We are climbers
The Sea and the Rock
Paredes Alicantinas is a video guide to sports climbing in Alicante province, one of the most mountainous regions in Spain. This area of small size mountainous terrain has great quality rock and, being on the Mediterranean coast, the climate allows us to practice sports climbing all year round wearing short sleeves.
Miles of routes to be equipped and pointed out
Sponsorship will cover the expenses for the equipment for 100 routes (at least), boarding costs and the production of the video-guide documentary where we will show the best areas to practice sports climbing in Alicante and where we will highlight the natural beauty of the province. This audiovisual project is to be directed by experienced climbers that will analyse every route in detail and will take actions such as examine the state and the quality of the equipment and correct anomalies, to prevent accidents.
A didactic guide
This is not only a geographic guide; our project intends to provide accurate explanations, about security mechanisms in rock climbing and equipment, to prevent landslides and other natural phenomenon.
Far more than rock walls
As logistic and environmental laws are closely related to sports climbing, information about accessibility, parking areas, breeding and nesting periods, services location and other leisure activities will also be regarded.
Funds will be allocated for:
Sporting /recreational equipment for over 100 routes
Boarding costs: we will document and map over 20 field trips to discover the most noteworthy areas in Alicante province, searching for environmental variety and unevenness of land.
Post-production: Editing expenses of a 60 minutes video guide documentary and a PDF location map of the areas shown in the documentary Paredes Alicantinas
Translating and dubbing. If we reach our target of 6000€ in the first 20 days of campaign, we will translate our project into several languages, as well as the documentary guide to try to get to climbers from all over the world.
Working team
Juan Francisco Ruiz : Senior climber with experience over 15 years that has equipped more than 150 routes through all the province.
Manuel R. Sala : Climber and free-lance video journalist. Has published over 1500 video works and was the audiovisual maker of Diles que se vayan, documentary sustained by crowfounding.
Shared experiences: Many other climbers will accompany us to the places we will visit.
