«XANOXANO», the first album of Martina Sabariego

«XANOXANO» is the first full-length album by Martina Sabariego, composer, guitarist and double bassist from Valencia. A conceptual album that experiments with the concept of distance applied to time and space. Different temporalities and spaces make up the universe of XANOXANO.

A self-managed, independent project made up of musicians and artists from the Valencian and Catalan territories.

The album consists of nine newly created tracks inspired by all kinds of music, art and literature. XANOXANO configures an entire journey through some historical moments of music from a perspective of the present, with a personal look, which reflects on the space occupied by each temporality in a more contemporary moment.

Together, it creates a whole seemingly unrelated eclectic universe that gives meaning to a path full of very personal spaces and times. With influences from jazz, baroque, romanticism, afrobeat, concrete music, progressive rock, the psychedelia…

About Martina

Born in Xirivella in 1998, she is a Valencian composer, guitarist and double bass player.

He began his studies at the Torrent Conservatory with the classical guitar, with which he obtained the extraordinary prize. Afterwards, he left for Barcelona to study classical and contemporary composition at the Escola superior de música de Catalunya (ESMuC). When he finishes his undergraduate studies, he begins his master's degree in musical research while learning to play the double bass from scratch at Sedajazz, where he is currently part of the teaching staff. In 2023, he begins his postgraduate studies specializing in composition at the prestigious New England Conservatory in Boston (USA), on a scholarship from the same university.

His works have been performed at the Palau Reina Sofia in Valencia, the Palau de la música Catalana, the Paranimf of the UB, the auditorium of Santiago de Compostela, among many others.

He has toured with the Pony Pisador, with Vicent Torrent and currently with Pep Gimeno "Botifarra" as well as he has also performed in different jazz groups of the Sedajazz collective in different festivals and jazz cycles.
