Synopsis:

Three scientists try to save the future of their species. In the search they will meet an alien who shares the same goal. They need to find a new place to habit; and the alien guides them to the right place.

How the adventure begins:

"Girqik" is a film that is born in the city of Quetzaltenango Guatemala, in 2012, after launching a TV show in which the characters were puppets ( ** Kukara Macara**). The idea became a script of 70 pages, gradually the 60 characters involved in the film came to life. The film is a family adventure and comedy genre, where the main characters are designed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the planet.

Since inception in 2014, the producers team have worked in the preproduction, having planned to start shooting in November of the same year. The sets will be built in a place where the public can access and be part of the shooting.

Girqik is an innovative project in the Guatemalan audiovisual production, mainly for being the first film in which the characters are puppets and the target audience includes children. The team that makes up production hopes to launch the project in the early months of 2015.

Canicula Theater and Puppet:

Is a company dedicated to producing puppet shows. It also has developed festivals, workshops and audiovisual production in Latin American countries such as: Dominican Republic, Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, Costa Rica. Its Director, Puppeteer Robert Braham, has several years of experience in this type of production.

Who is responsible:

The Media Director Juan Pablo Diaz, director of Canelita Films and Roberto Braham Puppeteer, director Canicula Theater and Puppet. Have worked in different developments mostly puppet projects. They are the responsible for giving life to this new work.

The contributions will be used to create sets, rental of equipment and the construction of 70 puppets. In addition, conducting a campaign of environmental awareness with middle school students, which will consist of planting 10,000 trees.
