The Al Ras Festival reaches its 14th edition after years of great difficulty and with little aid. The effort of local bluegrass musicians, with the help of fans and volunteers, has kept the festival in a high musical level, despite virtually no money for its organization. But we can not go on like this: this year we intend to demonstrate that it is possible to make a superb festival of acoustic American roots music, the only one of its specialty left in Spain, keeping and improving musically, with guest musicians from the U.S. and the best local bands and the Spanish state. We need help from American music fans to keep the festival alive.
WHAT WE'LL DO WITH YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
The money will go entirely to the expenses needed to carry out the festival:
-Rental of equipment and sound technician.
-Help Travel and fees of an American band (The Hillbilly Gypsies).
-Help Travel and fees of an European / Spanish band (outside Catalonia) (band to be confirmed)
-A minimum wage / symbolic for local musicians (5/6 bands)
-Poster printing costs, insurance, gasoline for volunteers, etc..
If the initial amount is exceeded, the money be used for the recruitment of another musician / international group: ** We can get a spectacular Al Ras edition! **
CALENDAR
Online downloads will be ready after the summer. The physical rewards (posters, t-shirts, bags) will be delivered when the festival is held in November 2014.
