Having managed to finance my second album through Verkami, I’ve decided it’s time to present something new. I had enough songs for an LP, but I was drawn to the idea of producing something in-between by playing with a format not often used; the ten-inch vinyl EP.
As always, it’s also about cutting out the middle-man and being yourself, the people who contribute being responsible for the work itself. But that’s not the only motivation. The connection with the person who wants to be part of the project is perhaps the key to all this. This doesn’t happen when there is any type of middle-man present; feeling that there are people who are interested in your music, who in some way are pushing your music forward. Without this support many musicians wouldn’t be able to continue, given that it allows us sufficient funds to present something of quality. No cheap tricks.
WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE USED FOR
It’s a question of financing a new recording, having used the same method successfully for my second album; though this time in a different format; 10” vinyl, three songs on each side, 500 copies in a limited edition.
WHAT WE NEED
We need to finance the issue of a six-song EP on 10” vinyl.
WHERE IT WILL BE MADE
The recording was made in -0db Studios in Badajoz, Spain. After a long time working outside Extremadura, I was pleasantly surprised by the team of technicians I worked with; Oliver, Tato and David – young and restless people with their ears open who leave nothing to chance.
HOW MUCH WE NEED
As always, the budget has been tightened to a maximum. If we reach the anticipated amount, we’ll have just enough to pay for the studio and the making of the EP. Anything above this amount will be used to improve the product.
