I am Marta Mattotti, an italian living in Barcelona. This is my first solo CD. I have wanted to record a CD for many years, but it wasn’t until I landed in Barcelona that everything fell into place to make this dream a reality. Since December 2010 I have been working on the composition and production of these original songs.
This musical work is something more than a collection of songs I have composed. It has meant bringing myself into play, searching a new identity, both personally and for Italian music, trying to keep the distance form clichè and letting the music mixing up with Iberoamerican influences.
This has been an exploration of personal identity: with all the regionalisms and "ghettos" that are present in a metropolis like Barcelona, how can you find a sense of place? How can you feel part of a culture? The answer was in the mixture. To take something from each culture and add a good dose of humor and self reflection. Finally the result was this record. You will find something from italian, something latin, colombian, brazilian, funky, blues, soul, merengue, reggae...
The album combines urban and experimental tendencies, like body percussion and beat-box, with also the organic sounds of more "classic" instruments, like piano, violin, bass, drums and melodica.
Every song on this album arises from a real experience, either intimate or social. The album is like a musical compilation of the Barcelonian experience, with all the emotive and vital nuances.
This work also contain some magic. Every person involved was much more than a professional artist: every detail has arisen from a deep friendship and shared interests. In particular, " Los Martianos" was created out of both a personal and musical collaboration. Fidel on percussions, Felipe on bass and most of all Nicolàs on piano, arrangements and co-production. Without them, this would not have been possible.
I hope that the good vibes will be transmitted trough the music to all the people who listen to it.
WHY WE NEED THE FUNDING
The CD has been recorded and two singles with videoclip have already been released Rose Nere Sfondo Rosso e Pesce d'Aprile ) . One more singles + videoclip are planned to be released (Nube de Papel). The budgets is for:
- Recording and editing voices and percussions of 4 songs
- Mixing and mastering of 8 songs<
- CD's graphic art
- Printing of the CD
- Legal recording and digital distribution
- Production of hand-made merchandising Bigiotti Ghiotti
- Physical distribution of the CD and the merchandising

GET INVOLVED
I deeply believe in crowdfunding and in auto production. Auto-production gives you the freedom to follow all the steps of the creative work and allows you to have full artistic control. It's a powerful alternative to mainstream production , which nowadays is definitely passing through a crisis. Moreover, through the crowdfunding, the artist and the public start an relationship that allows the music to travel trough the most authentic word-of-mouth and heart pathways.
