PREMOH'S CRU: WHO ARE WE? / ABOUT US

We are a young professional company which has been active for 3 years. During the year 2019, we had the opportunity to be programmed and supported by different Spanish artistic entities (HOP Festival / Red a Cielo Abierto).

Premoh's Cru is born because of an American dance event called Block Party in Boulder, Colorado (USA), in September 2016. The company is composed by four Andalusian professional dancers who decided to get together to find a space, a place, and a dance that would unite and identify us outside of Spain. That is why, based on the cultural and artistic background of each dancer, we found a fusion between flamenco rhythms and urban dances. Inspired, both by the daily life and spontaneity of Andalusia (Málaga, Cádiz and Algeciras), our place of origin, and, by the urban movement as part of our culture, we feel entitled to call ourselves cru “crew”. The name of Premoh's, the Andalusian way of saying “primos” (cousins), comes from our family feeling, since we found in our roots and in our culture a common place to express ourselves and communicate through art.

On a personal level, each of us has been growing and creating different artistic, social and educational projects. As a result, we have been recognised as active artists in the urban and contemporary dance community, both nationally and internationally.

During the last year, we have toured the Spanish Peninsula and Islands sharing our piece "Anónimas raíces" (15 min), thanks to being selected by the network of festivals Red A Cielo Abierto. Our piece was finished during an artistic residency granted by the Barceloneta Civic Center and the HOP Festival, in which we shaped the creation presented at many different festivals:

We have also obtained the 1st Prize in Urban Dances at the CERTAMEN BURGOS NYC. 2019, in BURGOS and we were awarded an artistic residency for the year 2020, at the Choreographic Centre of La Gomera for the production of a new piece.

OBJECTIVES AND THE PROJECT TODAY

Our current project is to travel to the Danza Humana Festival held in La Plata, Argentina, from March 21, 2020 until April 5, 2020.

This festival gives us the opportunity to share our piece “Anónimas Raíces”. At the same time it raises the possibility to guide the creation process “Vínculos del AND” to generate a new piece in collaboration with other Latin American artists participating in the festival.

"DANZA HUMANA" THE FESTIVAL

For us it is very important to be able to attend the Danza Humana festival, since this has been created under the co-direction of one of the members of our company, Isaac Suárez. Through this work, he has created a connection that crosses borders and extends the knowledge of people from Andalusia and Latin America.

To support this campaign is also to support the festival. This will allow us to fulfill the objective of connecting Spain and Latin America and to enrich the bond by celebrating this festival in Andalusia in 2021. This link provides a space to build, a space in which all body expression languages can be used and understood from an active, open and honest presence.

Danza Humana festival aims to travel through different paths of dance with particular body and expressive languages.

Within the framework of the Festival different lines of work are developed, such as creation residencies "Vínculos del ADN", workshops, theatre performances and urban interventions.

We have the institutional support of the city hall of La Plata, capital of Buenos Aires province, which granted the declaration of Municipal and Cultural interest to the Festival. This was also recognized by the Honorable Senate of the Buenos Aires province.

THE REASON WHY WE ASK FOR YOUR HELP.

To continue growing and to continue creating, we need your help and financial support to make this trip a reality. Unfortunately, in Spain, we do not have the help, opportunities and support needed by emerging companies to cover all the expenses involved in projects like this.

Therefore, we need those resources so that the whole company can travel and cover the expenses during 2 weeks of stay, which is what the residency program and the creation process last. All this will take place within the framework of Danza Humana festival itself.

If we achieve it, thanks to your help, we will be able to create a new piece together with other artists attending. In addition to that, we would be representing our Andalusian roots and we would show our research at an artistic and body level. In short, in general terms, we would love to be able to create new links with other artists from other places on the planet and to transfer our experiences and our way of creating new movement languages. In this way, we would not only continue to develop as artists, but also as constantly evolving human beings.

WHAT WILL BE THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.

Our effort and perseverance are paying off little by little, and our work is increasingly valued by the public, critics, programmers and urban and contemporary dance communities. In spite of this, as we have explained previously, it is being difficult for us to receive support from the institutions. At this juncture, it is thanks to donations and crowdfunding that we can cover the minimum expenses we can foresee:

• With 4,440 euros -> we will finance transport costs from Spain to Buenos Aires (round

trip) + a minimum of accommodation and food.

• With 6,000 euros -> we will cover transport costs + our accommodation and food

expenses, in addition to charging a small fee for the performances we are going to do

do at the Festival.

• With +6,000 euros -> apart from covering all expenses, we would have the

opportunity to save money for new creations and to continue investing in the next

creative projects that the company faces in 2020.

PLANNED SCHEDULE.

The planned schedule for our trip will be from March 18, 2020 with our arrival in La Plata, Argentina, on the 19th.

From March 20 to April 5, 2020 we will be making the creative residency with other international artists, in addition to perform several times with our piece *Anónimas

raíces*.

Once the festival is over in this first edition in Argentina, we will begin to organize the meetings that we will arrange in Andalusia for May and June 2020.

• 13 y 14 June in Málaga.

We want to create an extension of Danza Humana festival in Spain, where you could enjoy some of your rewards (Premiere show, workshops and the viewing of a documentary made during our stay in

Argentina).

In relation to the t-shirts, our sendings will be available from May 1 and throughout 2020, until they are sold out.

Regarding the other rewards, they are valid for one year from May 2020.
