The time to record our first studio album has finally come!

We have now written enough new material, and we're really confident about it, so with YOUR support, we want to give the songs the best possible treatment by recording them in a professional studio this year.

About us

The Mothercrow was founded in Barcelona in 2015 by the lead singer Karen Asensio and guitarist Ram Lorenzo, together with bassist Claudia Gonzalez and drummer Gerard Fernández. Their 60’s inspired blues, rock and psychedelia immediately won critical acclaim from the local rock scene where they went on to play numerous gigs. These first two years also saw the release of two independent EPs, the first one self titled and the second; “On the Road”.

After the departure of Ram and Gerard in 2017, Karen and Claudia would take the band through changing lineups. During this period they performed several shows nationwide in support of “On the Road”, sharing stage with international heavyweights such as Siena Root and Ecstatic Vision.

It wasn’t until early 2018 that the band could finally welcome experienced drummer Pep Carabante and Swedish guitarist Max Eriksson as permanent members of the group. The composing of new material soon took off, and it didn’t take long until new songs started to make their way into the setlists of the gigs played during spring and summer.

This final change in lineup also shifted the band's musical influences towards heavier riffs and grooves. There was a natural transition to the style of music that is often referred to as “proto heavy metal”; pioneered in the early 70’s by bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Grand Funk Railroad, Sir Lord Baltimore... to only mention a few.

About the rewards

We will press a limited edition colour vinyl where your name will be printed inside together with the names of everyone else who made a pledge. Of course you can also get the album only as a digital download or as a Digipack CD. The cover and artwork of the album is being created by Jalón de Aquiles and will soon be announced.

Apart from the record itself, we offer limited edition merchandising, such as T-shirts, posters, tickets to the release concert, and some other very unique and crazy experiences.

Some of the experiences you can choose will be: from sharing stage on the day of the release concert, visiting a rehearsal and jamming with the band, to spending a great day full of adventures... You can even get a permanent memory on your skin! We have among our rewards some magical Crowtattos by the hand of the great Mamba, designs that you can choose, opting for the city in which to tattoo (according to availability of upcoming calendars) in their private studios in Madrid or Barcelona. This is probably the only chance to get many of these rewards...

If you can't organize to pick up of your reward from someone from the group in Barcelona city, Vitoria-Gasteiz or Stockholm, remember to add the shipping costs separately.

What will the money be used for?

All the money pledged to this campaign will be destined to the recording and mixing and mastering of our debut album.

The manufacturing of the physical copies will be entirely financed by the band, unless we exceed our funding goal, in which case that money will most welcome to help us with that as well.

Timelines

We would begin the recordings in December this year and if everything goes according to the plans the physical copies and the merchandising will be ready by spring 2019.
