Madness, the soul of the vineyard of the "Bauma de les Deveses"

In July 2017, we presented our first crowdfunding "Verkami" to recover the dry stone walls and grow a vineyard in Sant Julià de Cerdanyola, Berguedà.

People helped us and now we are ready to follow our motto "in the high life of the soul, the only meaning of sanity is to launch madness" Ramon Llull (thirteenth century). More than thirty walls have been restored during this time and we are ready for the second phase, the vineyard plantation.

The soul of madness

Joan Rubió (oenologist and sommelier); Imma Espel (biologist specialized in tourism) and Carles Flaquer (biologist specialized in bats) are the founding partners of the Bauma de les Deveses. We have lost the wisdom to throw ourselves into the madness of getting wine from these inhospitable mountain meadows.

About the rewards

There are four levels of rewards that can be combined:

1) Share our experiences in vineyards learning to graft, plant, etc.

2) Tasting high-quality natural products such as Joan Rubió wine and Agustí Costa bread.

3) Purchase wine elaborated in the Penedès and dedicated by Joan Rubió to our project and accompanied by our bag, made by the designer Montse Massagué (Mon Massague).

4) Sponsorship of wild centennial strains and

solitary terraces that imply an over-cost, but it's a shame to leave them without vines, right?

To what will use your contributions...

Once we have already prepared 1ha of vineyard now it is necessary to graft 1,000 strains planted in 2016 and plant 4,000 strains more. We are also preparing the area with electric fences to avoid wildlife incursions.

During 2018 the investment in strains, wildlife fences, etc. increase a lot the costs of our project.

We will use your patronage to pay a part of the 25,000€ costs.

In addition we do not want to forget the wild vines, those that have been in this land for hundreds of years and for which we are doing research.

Schedule

Since we have to complete the farmers calendar, the experiences of planting will be at the end of April. The Essential wine will be delivered during the planting campaign.

The wild wine and terraces sponsors have a longer and uncertain journey and therefore imply a superior folly degree, in which you will never feel alone;)
