Our initiative attempts to name and shame those responsible for the current social and economic situation, explaining how they got us to where we are and how they are enriching themselves at our expense. To do this, we use sources that are accessible to everyone and propose to create an exhibition, a web site and a video.
OUR WORK
Our first concern is how to explain the situation in a simple and visual form.
The first step will be an itinerant exhibition display with four posters 200cm. high by 80cm. wide, dividing the information into themes: 'The Planet'. 'Who the Rich Are'. 'How they are Destroying us'. 'There are Alternatives'. Furthermore we will collect the opinions of those who see the exhibition, in order to promote interaction between them and us.
On the web site, the information of the posters will be developed and linked to the original sources and news, in an attempt to dig deeper into the main themes of the exhibition. The web site will grow as the project progresses and will include the video. It will be housed on the servers of the Observatorio de la Deuda en la Globalización (ODG), who have kindly given us their support.
The video will include an interview with Arcadi Oliveres, professor of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and director of the Justícia i Pau (Justice and Peace) organisation of Barcelona, which promotes and defends human rights.
WHY ARE WE ASKING FOR YOUR COLLABORATION?
This all began when a group of students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) came across a book called How the Rich are destroying the planet by Hervé Kempf and decided to band together to set up this project.
We asked for financial aid from the Centre for Cooperation for Development (CCD) of the university, under their programme of support for public awareness campaigns. We applied for €2000 for the exhibition, the presentation and related expenses. We were awarded this amount by the CCD in April 2011, and hoped to get going that December. The €2000 included funds for a visit by professor Arcadi Oliveres, to launch the exhibition and give an opening speech. Finally however, because of timetabling problems, we decided to go to Barcelona to interview Arcadi Oliveres there, which gave rise to extra costs.
In December we had begun to show the exhibition by means of posters at the university when we received an explicit order from the board of directors of the CCD to remove the university logo from the posters and prohibiting us from displaying them there. They claimed there was a lack of supervision of the creative process, which in fact they had never asked for, and they subsequently withdrew the subsidy. According to them, the exhibition was unfocused and the UPV could not be seen to approve it.
We therefore find ourselves with an exhibition which is already set up, plus a web site and a video still in the making. We have incurred costs, but we now no longer have the funds to pay them. This is the reason we are appealing to Verkami for funds. We ask for your collaboration so that we can put on the exhibition at the beginning of the next academic year.

Bones preguntes, molt estaria canviant l'esglesia si ens abonara els 2000 eurets.
Respecte a la referència a l'Arcadi, la seva participació al projecte es una entrevista com a Catedràtic d'economia però ja ens vendria be a totes tindre més cristians com ell.
