Background #
In the Middle Ages, in Sant Julià de Cerdanyola, vineyards occupied the land with small sunny terraces and stone walls to conquer the slopes. Vineyards were there until the sixteenth century because of agricultural transformation and competition with wines from France.
The Folly #
The project arises from a walk and a talk of Carles Flaquer (Biologist) and Joan Rubió (winemaker), in Sant Julià de Cerdanyola. Joan told Carles that the wine had to return to the town. This was the origin of the project, without reflection or analysis, but with the clear idea to recover the vineyard landscape for this small town.
Dreaming
In late 2014, we presented to the Old People town Board the project and we managed to lease the land. In July 2015 we established the company Bauma de les Deveses SL and pay to plant vines in a small part of the terraces. In the winter of 2015 we began to prepare the terraces clearing bushes.
At the beginning of 2015 we started to prepare the ground with Alfred Ferris and his horses.
In the area all work must be done manually with the help of horses. Alfred and Marc were in charge of preparing the land to be able to plant the first vines (1,400 strains in 2016).
Another work that we did was begin to rebuild some of the damaged dry stone walls that are essential in order to work properly the terraces.
Nightmare
The cost to fix the dry stone wall was the first obstacle to our modest team, but nothing compared to accept that the terraces were becoming feeding wildlife areas.(chamois, deer, roe deer and wild boars). Surely it should have been evident for two biologists and a winemaker that livestock would be a problem but folly is like that.
Your contributions
We have many tasks to do but above all we have to rebuild dry stone walls to restore the agricultural landscape that was in the area for centuries. The dry stone walls of this territory are not only an important value in terms of our project but are a unique landscape of cultural interest of Sant Julià de Cerdanyola an unique stamp from pre-Pyrenees.
The recovery of all the walls is unattainable but we plan to recover at least the walls of the area where vines will be planted, that is, less than two hectares of land. The cost of this recovery of dry stone walls can reach 20,000 euros.
About the rewards
We do not want to pre-sale wine, please be a little crazy because our project, beyond wine production, is primarily a recovery of a cultural and agricultural heritage that you can share with us.
The full name of all the people who help us will appear in a sculpture placed in the vineyards, recording us a difficult period that we will overcome thanks to your help.
Completely mad people will have all the rewards plus be part of our club and will be first hand informed of all our activities relating to the project.
CALENDAR
The sculpture and experiences to the vineyards will take place during 2017 and 2018.

Buenos días,
Ni mucho menos va dirigido a catalano-hablantes, al contrario que esperamos que el proyecto pueda llegar a gente que hable español, francés, inglés y alemán. En el Verkami hemos optado por nuestra lengua nativa, no tengo claro si podemos traducir (lo voy a mirar).
Referente a las categorías de aportación, resumida…30 y tu nombre estará en nuestros viñedos, 45 anterior mas camiseta, 75 anterior y te ofrecemos venir a 2 “master class” de nuestro enólogo mas estar al corriente de las actividades de campo que hacemos el 2017 y 2018 y 150€ estarás en nuestro club lo anterior más una comida con el equipo y participación en actividades puntuales durante todo el proyecto.
Básicamente te quiero hacer llegar que se trata un proyecto local lleno de emotividad y romanticismo, quizás pensando en que un cambio global es necesario a partir de las pequeñas cosas.

Creo que el proyecto me gusta, pero no entiendo con precisión muchas de las cosas que dices, incluso en las recompensas. Me interesa tu proyecto pero no me veo muy incluida porque parece que vaya dirigido solo a catalano-hablantes. Gcs

Podeu venir amb la parella i/o fills/es i només és pels mecenes.
Hi haurà dues activitats on coneixerem la vinya amb l'enòleg i a banda s'informarà als mecenes d'aquesta categoria de les llaurades a cavall, activitats de pedra seca, poda, etc. que es vagin fent a la vinya per si hi volen assistir.
