The Hairdresser's Divan is an interactive installation directed by María Stoyanova and Ada Vilaró, with the support of the Fira Tàrrega Creation Laboratory and the Contemporary Creation Festival of Escena Poblenou. It will be premiered at the official program of Tàrrega in Septiember 2016, and in Octuber en Barcelona

Synopsis:
The public is invited to participate in an intimate and unique personal journey, through an interactive installation created from emblematic elements of the hairdressing salon, transforming it into a space for play, questioning and reflection. A place of human meeting, familiar and free of inhibitions, in which to share ideas, opinions and actions that question aesthetic norms. The proposal counts with the participation of local hairdressers.

What the money will be used for:
All contributions will be used to help cover costs involved to create the project, such as direction, production, costumes, the making of videos, graphic materials, props and expendables.
If we are lucky enough to reach our objective of 2500€, please don't stop colaborating! The costs involved are much higher

The Company
Sienta la Cabeza is a company from Barcelona, formed by Fafá Franco and Nick Prescott. In 2001 we created the show "Sienta la Cabeza", an unusual street performance that combines artistic hairdressing and music. Over the last 15 years we have performed at festivals and events in Spain and Europe, and also further afield in Mexico, Brasil, Central America, Russia, Australia and Asia.
In "The Hairdresser's Divan" we are looking for a closer, more intimate contact with the audience, and continue to explore the transformative capacity of hairdressing. It is a great challenge for us to venture into the area of human specific site performance by means of an interactive installation, using new forms to explore and reflect on aesthetics and its normalisation, with its relationship to daily life and self esteem.

The gifts to download will be available after the premiere, whilst the printed magazine and hair curler sculptures will be given in October.

The installation will be premiered on the 9th, 10th and 11th at Fira Tàrrega, from 17:30 to 20:30
In Octuber it will be in the program of the Contemporary Creation Festival of Escena Poblenou (dates and times to be confirmed)
The celebration party will be in October in Barcelona, date and time to be confirmed.
