"Al Ras" is the oldest (and currently the only one) american roots music festival in Spain.
Every year we bring spanish, european, and american musicians, to the joy of local bluegrass aficionados: shows and artists that seldom reach our country.
It takes place each november at Mollet del Vallés. It's recognized by the European Bluegrass Music Association.
Even when the festival is receiving some public economic support, it doesn't cover the minimum required to cover its costs. So, if we want a bluegrass & old time festival, we need the support of the lovers of this music genre.
And that's why we are here, asking for your support. The festival is also financed by a raffle, merchandising sale, and some limited edition instruments that we sell in collaboration with some fine luthiers that are supporters of the festival, so we can ask you to crowdfund the strictly necessary to ensure the continuity and the quality of the festival.
The line-up for 2016 is truly great, we have two bands from out of Spain, The Gather Rounders (USA), Red Wine (Italia), plus members of The Hillbilly Gypsies (USA), La West Bluegrass Band (Bilbao), plus an old time artist (to be confirmed), and a local band (also to be confirmed), plus some surprises to come...
These are artists and musica that are only possible to see and hear in our country thanks to Al Ras.
So, if you are a lover of bluegrass and old time music, help us, this is your festival!
What we'll do with your contributions
The festival is organized by volunteers, so the money is needed basically to cover three areas: musicians (fees, travel, accommodation), sound(engineer and equipment rental) and the legal compulsory costs (insurances, security personnel).
The rewards
Digital rewards (music downloads, digital subscriptions) will be distributed after the summer.
Physical rewards (t-shirts, etc.) will be distributed during the festival. If you cannot attend we can send the items to you, please contact us.
Schedule
Al Ras will take place on november 12th, 2016 in Mollet del Vallés.
The day before, the 11th, there's is a welcome concert at La Sedeta, in Barcelona.
