Dear and highly esteemed......

The title of the campaign‭ (‬The kind face of absurdity‭) ‬makes reference to a way of facing problems in life,‭ ‬looking for imaginative solutions avoiding useless conflicts,‭ ‬accepting as an opportunity for improving the uses so far we could make of this outer space of the Café Teatro Siete what in the beginning is a prohibition.

Our project consists of simply restructure the terrace of the Café Siete in La Laguna in an charming and friendly park that directly or indirectly allows the continuation of the cultural programme and the rest of the socio-creative activities that have been taking place in this emblematic establishment until the ridiculous implementation of the municipal normative that only authorises using this place as a parking‭ (‬and as a courtyard for personal use‭)‬.

An enquiring proposal from architecture and urban landscape,‭ ‬to achieve an adaptation of the terrace that guarantees its continued benefit and use of the many regular visitors and groups of all kinds that gather there for years.

Goals

In a nutshell,‭ ‬we pursue three basic goals,‭ ‬and added hundreds of implications:

1.-‭ ‬Enjoy double and triple the space and make it of our own among all of us while it lasts and we can.

2.-‭ ‬Keep the cultural programme of Café Siete,‭ ‬so that artists and those interested in it can enjoy it at the same time that those not particularly interested‭ (‬in a lecture on time,‭ ‬a show or whatever event that could be‭) ‬also have their space and can coexist.

3.-‭ ‬And in that sense,‭ ‬the conjunction of these two goals will result in the impulse of many other projects that are generated there as an opened place for meetings.

Here are two pictures as an example of those wonderful things that sometimes happen,‭ ‬and if we do not achieve a solution they would take long to be repeated again.

What we will use your contribution

The courtyard needs to be redecorated, enlightened, enlivened to start calling it park. So the contributions received will be earmarked for just that purpose.

This terrace is opened since 2001 at least, and has lived many periods without stop being a particular and unique space, although it has not always been as we see today.

When we began to manage the house in early 2010, came to have this suggestive look. It was thanks to the collaboration at that time of the architect Jean Pierre Mongard, who was kind enough and enthusiastic to help us to do it on a shoestring.

The change is significant with respect to the current situation. Nothing that cannot be solved, despite the prevailing insecurity. So we made contact with Jean Pierre again to ask for a new proposal atmosphere, on which we want to online a preview:

Thus are the evolutionary changes. Thus it is that new uses of public spaces are established, more open to the community, and thus we want to open ourselves to new uses of private spaces, more organized and more open to the people who live in. Because the only way of living in a community and proposing solutions with future is having things in common. The rest will come with time.

Planned schedule

In case of becoming an success –we feel confident about it– we are in a position to hand over the proposed incentives within one month after the closing date.

We will contact you by mail and we will announce the dates on which you can visit us and pick up the purchases. Those people who come from outside La Laguna, indicate us and the incentives will be mailed. The dinners will be available from minute one. We will deal directly with stakeholders the identification of benches and sandwiches.

In any case, we will be available for any question by mail and in 7 El Juejo St.

The implementation of the project will begin the day after the end of the campaign, once the appropriate courses for the start-up are regularised. From here, our interest is doing it as soon as possible and in the best manner that circumstances permit.

With these always optimist expectations, we could think in planning a reinauguration party with all the patrons and all the supporters before spring arrives.
