This publication brings together a collection of my work, expeditions and experiences of the past years among the most emblematic and diverse landscapes of the Andalusian geography.
From the subtropical forests of Los Alcornocales to the volcanic desert of Cabo de Gata, through ghostly stone labyrinths in the Torcal de Antequera, the high peaks of Sierra Nevada with its waterfalls, lakes and snow tunnels, visiting surprising and contrasting desert landscapes, undulating agricultural fields and pastures, deep and inaccessible ravines, centuries-old Oaks, autumn forests and magical "naive" landscapes with blossoming almond trees among others...
Contents
Apart from being a tribute to the beauty of the portrayed places, the publication also aims to highlight the mystical, profound and spiritual aspect of the landscapes, for considering the portrayed areas as places of empowerment, spiritual homes where to find peace, strength and inspiration, spiritual human shelters where to discover or recover the capacity of being in charge of one´s own life, to create, express, and share, points of departure to start or resume challenging paths towards new horizons...
To emphasize this quality, the publication includes inspiring texts, quotes and proverbs of writers and poets as well as a didactic unit dealing with the creative empowerment through artistic activity, in this case landscape photography.
Special collaborations
The book features an introduction which is a summary of the book "In the spiral of the energy", written by Ramón Fernández Durán and Luis Gonzalez Reyes, a reference work on the exhaustion of the cheap energy and its impact on the current industrialized and urbanized society.

About my work
Although actually I am of northern origins (Holland) and worked in my country as a lawyer, I ended up accidentally with a life dedicated to the photography of nature in Andalusia.
In life you have either time or means, rarely you will dispose of both at the same time, in my case I chose for having time and compensate the lack of means with a good dose of imagination, passion, dedication and a great physical effort.
Since I do not have a car, the majority of the images are made during stays of several days in the countryside, so each image contains at the same time the story of an expedition. This apparent disadvantage forced me, or rather, enabled me, to spend days and nights in the mountains with the corresponding interaction and the comforting feeling of being part of these places, which has allowed me to obtain more “depth” in my pictures.
Thus publishing books is not only a pleasant way to share moments and places of great deepness and beauty but also like inviting you to step inside my most intimate “natural homes".
