Exceeded € 8,100
Just an hour before completing the funding campaign, we have surpassed the €8,100.
Once again thank you for trusting in this project and in helping that the Saharawi people are a bit more present in the World, through these everyday little stories. Because the worst thing for them is to be forgoten.
.............................................
Exceeded € 7,800!
With an initial target of € 4500, today, two days before the close of crowdfunding, we are exceeding € 7,800.
As of Monday 27/07/15 you all patrons receive one form for you to fill in the necessary information concerning your rewards. Among others, your mailing address, the name that you want to appear in the acknowledgments of the book, the recipient of the dedications, etc.
Thank you for your indispensable support and for your trust in the project!
Now we can:
• Increase the number of pages from 96 to160, greatly increasing the number of drawings and the number of things to say.
• Improve the quality of paper, from register paper 120g to 170g matt coated paper.
• Edit postcards from some of the drawings.
• Include all the rewards (in addition to the already established):
• • Two bookmarks
• • A set of 4 postcards
• Increase from 500 to1000 edition copies, so the AAPSS may make a wider distribution comprising both donations and sales.
• Edit blank notebooks for future urban sketching courses at the Camps.
• Pay the Saharawi translator Abdallah, enacting anti-war activism in the Sahara, who offered selflessly. But it is a question of dignity to reward their work.
• Fund the presentation and exhibition of the book at the Saharawi camps, during the 2015 edition of ARTitifariti.
The Camps
The Saharan people have been divided between exile and occupation for the last forty years. Since 1975 the Spanish government decided to abandon the then Spanish province of Western Sahara into the hands of Morocco, many actions have been carried out in support of the refugees and against forgetting these people and their right to self-determination and recognized by the UNO since then.
During the month of March 2015 I was living with a family in the Saharawi camps. The book I intend to edit is a selection of drawings and written notes in situ.
Quite the opposite of what one might think, shortages and limited conditions of the refugee camps, do not undermine their ability to enjoy the most valuable thing they have, beyond material goods. During the month of living with them has helped me appreciate and to try and narrate these values with the same ease with which they show themselves in their everyday things of life.
The how and why of the project
I came to the camps with quite a few note books in my backpack, but without a clear idea of what I was going to find or do. The warm hospitality and genuine feeling of hospitality with which I was received, made me feel like a family member who comes on visit. And that was the subject of my drawings and notes ...
... The passing of life among things, circumstances and people that refreshed my gaze and, at the same time made me feel so close. That's just the beginning. I believe, my friends, that something of this is transmitted in the selection of drawings and prose that make up this book.
The trip and accommodation were possible thanks to the support and assistance of the Asociación de Amistad con el Pueblo Saharaui de Sevilla, (Association of Friendship with the Saharawi People in Seville), AAPSS, of which goes the benefits of this project, either as part of the edition or either directly through funds left over by your contributions, once the expenses are covered and which may be used in future aid projects.

When participating as a sponsor...
• You will receive at least one copy of the book, which will be a gratifying reference for us of the everyday life in such a place so set aside from the daily life, such as the refugee camps.
• You will find or remember, if you've been there, many curious things, some of which are very close, although it is far from where you live and for others it will sink in deeply because they correspond to genuine values of living together, honor, respect and family warmth.
• You will have at home, on the table or in your library, a colorful and inviting copy to browse through that will help bring your friends and family closer to this cause that you support.
• You will help to divulge this approach to daily life among the people there, through their libraries (Bubisher) among cooperators, supporters and in many other forums and institutions.
• Summing up, you will contribute for the right to return, to decide, to this lively town and so not to fall into oblivion.
To what will we allocate your contributions
• To pay for the costs of printing the book and the rewards.
• Once the donations are awarded, the rest of the edition will go to the Association of Friendship with the Saharawi People in Seville, reserving a few copies, for the author.
• If there are enough funds after the distribution and cost recovery, the remains will be consigned to the Association for future projects.
This is the only source of funding.

Saludos
Javier
