Dante, our host, takes on a horse trip through hidden Galicia, through places that have been left out from being connected to main roads. The main idea is to document and spread the way of life in the region in the context of its natural beauty.

Once our host starts the trip he will slowly get acquainted with the everyday Galician culture: from home made recipes, music, dress and hidden natural beauty. Even local characters ‘lost in time’ which he will discover during the trip.

Our documentary distinguishes itself from the rest due to the fact of traveling on horse back allows to access little known areas where old traditions are kept alive and well. Meanwhile our documentary revindicates the particularity of animal locomotion, with a loyal horse which will accompany us drawing roads.

And if all this was not enough our host will add a touch of humour interacting with the locals from a variety of towns and villages to demonstrate the Galician essence and invite people from all over the world to a particular trip.

  14. WHO ARE WE?

We strive for our documentary to be unique. We distinguish ourselves for the specific way on which we have chosen to explore the region. Since moving on horse back allows to access hidden places, where old traditions are being kept practically intact. It also allows to access natural spots which are not part of well known tours.

We will slowly immerse in the everyday Galician culture: from traditional recipes, music, dress, hidden natural scenery and even local characters. We count on the kindness of the Galician people, whom will allow to cook and eat alongside them, lodge us in rural areas and even help them working taking on typical local activities to be able to show with the help of the camera the Galician essence.

Furthermore, our host will add his sense of humour through colourful conversations and chats with characters that the road will help to meet. He will also add a bit of adventure based on the fact of that traveling on horse back will help opening new roads.

GO TO TOP

We have chosen to make this documentary riding a horse because it is clear to us that to move on horse back will help to have more freedom of movement and we will be able to have access to places where very few documentary makers arrive. This in turn will allow us to produce a great film about Galicia.

We reckon that we can revindicate the horse as a travel partner, not only as a result of its loyal and generous presence but also with its permanent invitation to adventure, to enjoy nature and with the friendly way it relates to humans by being seen as a equine partner. One thousand kilometres is nothing when compared with trips that were done in the past but still it is more than what we are accustomed nowadays.

GO TO TOP

We have too many reasons, in the first place we will you the quote from a Alberto Villanova Rodríguez book:

“How many penetrated Spain over the course of millennia, whatever their land of origin and way of entry to the peninsula; they will arrive from the distant European North, from central Europe, from the Danube valley or Illyria; proceeding from the Middle East, Greece or Africa; entering Spain through the Western or Eastern Pyrenees; landing in South East Almeria, crossing the strait, all without exception advanced, advanced crossing the peninsula to arrive to Galicia. But once there they will be stopped by the sea, once in Galicia they will be among their predecessors. These, from the remote times of the life of men in our fatherland they had to get used to defend themselves from the newly arrived.”

Then, if the idea of riding a horse in this land full of historical, geographical and cultural attractions it is not enough, in the second place we tell you that the host of this documentary has Galician heritage.

GO TO TOP

It is not a secret, the host is a young Argentine horse rider with Galician heritage. Why did not we select a Galician youngster? Specifically because we believe an outsider revitalise or revalue customs, places and traditions of the people that inhabits the region. These for being common of daily occurrence could be done inadvertently thus they might not perceive the richness that surrounds them.

In addition we are convinced that a foreign host will give an international flavour to the documentary, allowing us entry into different contexts and countries. It will allow us to spread the beauty of Galicia through our camera lens and to motivate people from around the world to visit this marvelous land.

GO TO TOP

Since our intention is to expose the hidden Galicia we have got in touch with a variety of Galician organisations and inhabitants with the hope that they will provide us with information about the places we would like to go to and what we should not allow ourselves to avoid doing. Nonetheless it is known that by traveling on horse back with will come across interesting unexpected places. We could not take on this project without consulting experts to collect as much information as possible.

In the case of going getting economic support above the budget we calculated it will be necessary for the project we have planned a extension for our tour. This is explained later on this text (link about it with its explanation), to go though the most important cities and in this manner to produce a second montage including these touristic spots. With this we hope to extend the range of spectators.

The language of this documentary will be Spanish but it will be subtitled in Galician. To be able to broadcast it and promote it to the maximum of possibilities it will also be subtitled in Catalan, Euskera (Basque), French, Italian, English, German and Dutch. According to its success we plan to add more languages.

The idea is to broadcast the documentary on Galician TV, also on travel channels and documentary channels around the world.

Also a member of the production team will be in charge of taking the documentary to Argentina since the region has an important place in Argentina as a consequence of the big quantity Galician immigrants living in the country and the amount of Argentinian people of Galician heritage.

We know that most of the people in the world speaks Chinese and Arabic , to be able to get to this level of subtitling we will have to engage in a massive work of post-production in other words we will need big economic support. Since none of us could be able to do this work we will have to hire translators and interpreters. Thus we will only do this work in the case of getting an amount of economic support above our initial budget or expected target.

We believe you have got this far because you know how it works, but nobody was already knowing so here it comes the explanation. Crowd funding means something like ‘collective financing’, it is a great idea which allows to produce projects based on the economic support of individuals, as little as it could be it is resumed in the principle of ‘unity is strength’. Following simple steps:

  1. You could see what its offered in exchange according to your level of support. You could pick the offer that suits you

  2. Then you will see a screen of confirmation once you picked your option and then you will select your selected method of payment.

  3. In the payment screen you will introduce your personal details.

  4. Your payment will be deducted only in the case of the project being successful, meaning once the target has been reached. If we do not achieve our goal your payment will not be taken.

  5. You will receive your perk within the agreed deadline.

GO TO TOP

We cannot believe it. Only securing money from a loan shark or robbing a train riding horses, like in the old times. The reason to use crowdfunding is because every time we produced moving pictures documentary (short or long film) we end spending money we do not have and we always end up in debt, then we have to honour our debt and once we want to produce another film the story repeats itself. It is a nice financial system. But it is not endless we hope that this project will become our coup de grace against this. Therefore we need to do it professionally. By professionally we mean good quality image, sound, post-production, etc. All this exceeds us on the possibility to finance it. Even though we are financing more than half of the project with our own money we need your help. Offering great perks and even the chance to participate.
