Who is MISS GI?

My name is Giselle Wai Lau. I'm a musician, born in Paris, France of Spanish and Chinese decent. Madrid adopted me in 2000.

Some of you may know me for my work with the rock band Freak Mummy (“Ombres Chinoises,” 2010, “Raw,” 2013).

I have also worked as a backing singer in several Madrid-based bands such as Pinktones, Garrett Wall Band, Krakovia, Vinila Von Bismarck...

My experience as a songwriter, composer and vocalist includes the world of advertising, film and stage.

In the summer of 2014, I decided to record a solo album as MISS GI with the material I had been recently working on. Then I had a hunch and decided to contact producer and musician MANUEL CABEZALÍ who I greatly admired for his lead work in the rock band Havalina.

He accepted the challenge and cradled my raw songs with art and respect, as I knew he would.

Since then, everything has been magical.

What is ( I )?

( I ) is a ten-song album, personal, diverse and sincere, recorded in three languages: English, Spanish and French. This album is pure LOVE.

Having the opportunity to record with Cabezali at El Lado Izquierdo studios with sound engineer Dany Richter, Juanma Padilla on drums and the special collaboration of Angela Romero Rubio on cello has been a dream come true.

My hope is to launch the album, let it fly out my window and reach your ears.

Why collaborate?

A lot of time, hard work and expenses have already been invested in the creation of ( I ). Your participation in this campaign will personally help complete the production of the recently recorded album. The contributions made to this campaign will specifically be attributed to manufacture the album, make copies of the digipack and cover expenses such as the artwork, the website, promotional and digital distribution.
