The Last World Cup we moved to Brazil to carry out an ambitious project that was minding our heads during the last two years.
(Iker) I lived in Brazil during three years and I could understand the requirements demanded by the country. Our Brazilian friends and some others reliable sources told us important information about the development of the sport event, with lot of darkness and countless scandals itself.
The trigger was the confederations cup with mass demonstrations and actions of the repressive government. It was the click that made us finally took the decision to travel to Brazil to capture images, information an impressions of a jaded and corrupted society. We started to investigate in late 2013 the triggered situations that occurred in the Confederations Cup where clashes between Brazilian citizens and police were happening day by day. The unhappiness of the Brazilian society was increasing and a bad atmosphere against the world cup aroused our fieldwork.
The first 4 months of 2014 was a period of research, interviewing attractive personalities and getting lots of information related with the incidents produced by the sporting event such as (tax evasion, militias in the favelas, deaths, disappearances....).
15 days before the world cup started, we moved over to interview our contacts before the event starts.
We shot for 35 days throughout the world cup happened in the main 4 cities that were hosting the event (Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro).
The documentary tells us the reality and what happened since Brazil was selected as host of the world cup 2014 until the last football game that played their team. We will discover in 90 minutes, a network of corruption between FIFA and the Brazilian government, unfortunately the Brazilian society was the most damaged.
The feelings of a nation faced between reality (social and economic problems, institutional corruption. Etc.) And there, the dream of The Brazilian football team became the champion of the world cup.
Through various chapters of Brazilian personalities, we will discover the reality of the past seven years in just 90 minutes, where tax evasion, real estate speculation, displaced people, disappearances and deaths were part of a big business that was hide behind the biggest sport event of the world.

Who are we?
We are Alain Garibi e Iker San Martin. Two close friends from the childhood who separately chose the same ways in different directions.
Argentine adopted Alain to progress in his cinematrographic vision and trained him as a director, while Iker in his eagerness for adventure travelled all over the world for more than 15 years, honing his eye for photography and portraying life and its moments.
This work we are presenting is our first common project, we have the biggest excitement about it because of the great advances we have achieved until now.
Where would your funding go?
We have already taken care of the pre production, production and shooting expenses during 45 days in Brazil. In order to be able to finish our project we have design a post production funding strategy .
Considering our position, we have decided to get support from VERKAMI.
If we raise 5.800 euros we would use the money for:
Post-production (editing, colour, audio, digital DCP cinema pack)
If we achieve our first goal, the second one would be
-Distribution (copies, distribution expenses)
-Promotion (trailer, teaser, website, merchandising)
Why should you support our project?
Supporting this documentary is the way to make justice, to give names to those big plots that are in the shadows. We want to uncover the governments abuses. They take advantage of their status to became rich and opress societies.
Supporting this documentary is a way of giving information to the future generations. This way they will be able to avoid further injustices, frauds and bigger social inequality.
How can I support?
Funding our project will help us to achieve our goal, but you can also collaborate the following ways:
Share this project on the social network!
Broadcast our project among your people!
Talk at the university, the bar, the hairdresser, any where you can think of...!
The rewards...
The biggest reward is to be part of the adventure of creating a documentary that we believe in making it last in time.
Furthermore you will be able to enjoy the first copies that we publish. They will be part of the first limited edition of DVDs not available in shops. You will be rewarded with the documentary B.S.O., T-shirts, tracksuits, premiere tickets, fully payed premiere weekend, and many more things...
The premiere will take place in Bilbao city. The date will be confirmed soon. Soon we will announcing the premiere in Barcelona and Madrid.
The reward that includes flights and hotels to attend the premiere only covers mainland flights. If you are a Basque Country resident, the reward will include flights and hotel night in the other cities where the documentary will be projected.
