Photographic Exhibition: “300 días Fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático”. This is the moment of truth, the moment to capture on paper more than ten months of work. Now you can take part of this exciting adventure by collaborating with this project.
The goal of this crowdfunding campaign is to raise enough funding to carry out a photographic exhibition titled “300 días Fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático” (“300 Days Photographing South East Asia). The idea is for it to be itinerant so that it can happen in at least three venues in the island of Tenerife, one in the North, one in the South and a third one in the Santa Cruz-La Laguna metropolitan area.
The photographs that compose this body of work were taken by Sergio Díaz between November 2012 and September 2013 as part of the project “Fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático” in the following countries:
Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar.
WHAT THE DONATIONS ARE USED FOR
The amount collected through this campaign will be entirely used to pay for the printing and mounting costs of the photographs included in the exhibition, and to fund the rewards for the patrons.
CALENDAR
The date of the exhibition will be decided after the crowdfunding campaign is finished and the photographs are printed, depending on the availability of the venue. It is expected to take place between December 2013 and February 2014.
ABOUT THE REWARDS
The rewards for the patrons who participate in this campaign will be distributed in the exhibition’s opening ceremony If a patron is unable to attend the ceremony, their reward will be posted by mail. Certain rewards will require arrangement in advance (portrait, photography session, and lunch or dinner).

Several of the photographs of this exhibition can be seen in the Facebook page “Fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático”. However, there will be some unpublished photographs in the exhibition that have never been seen before.

Why are your photos of South East Asia worthy of crowdsourcing? There are literally 1000s of photos from equally and more talented photographers out there which capture the beauty of this region more authentically than you have.
Bueno, dicen que las cosas de palacio van despacio, y por motivos de agenda de la sala de exposiciones la fecha que nos habían dado para la inauguración (el 26 de junio) no va a poder ser.
En cualquier caso la demora no será de muchos días. Cuando me den una fecha definitiva os lo haré saber.

El pasado día 15 se inauguró la exposición motivo de esta campaña de crowdfunding.
El evento fue presidido por el Excmo. Sr. D. Antonio Castro, Presidente del Parlamento de Canarias.
La exposición estará abierta al público hasta el día 27 de septiembre de 2014 en horario de 10 a 2 y de 5 a 8 de Lunes a Viernes, y los Sábados de 10 a 2.

Hoy me han comunicado que el Parlamento de Canarias, lugar donde se encuentra la sala de exposiciones que acogerá esta muestra fotográfica, será motivo de una reforma durante los meses de julio y agosto.
Por este motivo, desde el Gabinete de la Presidencia del Parlamento de Canarias, me indican que la exposición 300 días fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático, ha de ser pospuesta hasta septiembre.
A lo largo de este último mes he estado trabajando teniendo como objetivo primeros de julio, que es la fecha que me habían dado. Decenas de pruebas de impresión con distintos sistemas y con distintos papeles, retoques fotográficos de última hora, copias definitivas para exposición, elección de soportes y marcos, enmarcado, embalado, y otras cosas que no puedo contar para no quitaros la sorpresa... Mi casa en este momento parece un taller, con bobinas de papel de embalar, de papel burbuja, con fotografías ya listas para

Estimados mecenas, al fin la noticia que estábamos esperando... ya tenemos las fechas para la exposición "300 días Fotografiando el Sudeste Asiático"
Se inaugurará el día 26 de junio y estará visible hasta el 9 de julio, en la sala de exposiciones del Parlamento de Canarias, en C/Castillo de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Les iré concretando más en los próximos días.
Ahora toca ponerse manos a la obra para realizar una exposición de la que se sientan orgullosos.

Estimados mecenas,
Antes de nada quisiera daros a todos las gracias por esta larga espera, y pediros perdón por no haber podido cumplir mi compromiso con la fecha de la exposición. A veces las cosas no salen como uno las planea…
Cuando se alcanzó la cifra objetivo de este crowdfunding me puse manos a la obra en la búsqueda de una sala de exposiciones que se adaptase a lo que quería mostraros, no fue fácil, hasta que por fin gracias a una buena amiga surgió la oportunidad de exponer en una sala de reconocido prestigio en Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
El caso es que la sala es propiedad de un organismo público y la adjudicación de fecha para la exposición lleva un proceso administrativo que se está demorando más de lo esperado, desde luego mucho más de lo que yo hubiera deseado, de ahí el retraso.
En este momento me encuentro en una situación muy incómoda, pues tengo el compromiso con vosotros/as de
