CASE CONRAD´S first music video LONELY LIGHTLY LOW SHINE

Case Conrad and Margarita Leonore are making the band's first official video to promote the release of their second album LEIKKO. The album will be released indepedently in the fall 2013.

THE SONG

LONELYLIGHTLYLOWSHINE is about the sensation of feeling connected to someone on a dark and violent level, desperately trying to find new paths but being unable to shake the feeling of being intertwined. The sound comes in a nordic style of folk pop with hints of psychedelia and electronic music.

THE VIDEO


For the video we want to create suitable and engaging images, following a largely non-narrative story about two people who insist on trying to get away from each other. The focus will be a special costume, which demonstrates the video's main intrigue.

We will design and build the costume, as well as a unique instrument – both the costume and the instrument will later be given away as funding gifts.

Margarita thought of warping instruments when singer Gustav Haggren told her that he usually retunes or restrings his instruments so that he 'loses control' and discovers new, unexpected melodies.


Margarita also will make a short animation which will later be included in the whole process. 


However, Margarita does not want to reveal too much about the video as of yet but we assure you it will be great!

And for this we just need a bit of cash to:

rent the lighting and some camera equipment, a studio, a happy team, which will mainly work for free but will still need something to eat on set, the material for the costume and transformed instrument, the transport costs for some members of the band and some of the gifts.

CASE CONRAD and the German filmmaker Margarita Leonore crossed paths in Barcelona, December 2012. Margarita was walking with her friends in the gothic part of Barcelona, looking for a place to eat, when she recognised the chef in a tiny tapas bar. The chef turned out to be Robert Johansson who she had seen on stage playing guitar with CASE CONRAD at a show a few months earlier.


The show where Margarita first saw CASE CONRAD was at a crowdfunding show for a video being made by their mutual friends Be Brave Benjamin and Pablo Maestres. With Margarita's chance encounter with Robert the first stepping stone for a collaboration had been laid.



MARGARITA LEONORE


Margarita Leonore is an independent filmmaker from Germany, now living in Barcelona. In her studies of Visual Communications she focused on animation and finished 2011 with a degree from the Bauhaus-University in Weimar. Her techniques are mainly based on stop motion methods and her work has been screened on various film-festivals, including Interfilm in Berlin, Shnit in Bern/Captown, Filmfest Dresden and Back_up festival in Weimar (where she was awarded the prize for best animation).

CASE CONRAD


The Swedish band with members from Stockholm, Malmö and Helsingborg released their debut album DEW POINT 2010 and went on a one-year tour in Europe and USA before they landed in Barcelona. In Barcelona they spent a year recording the second album LEIKKO that is to be released in 2013. 


LEIKKO has not one but two lead vocalists, with an effective contrast. It brings together the talents of Gustav Haggren and Per Henrik Adolfsson for the first time. This remarkable collaboration sees both artists reach new heights in their creativity. The new album features poppy echoing drumbeats, dreamy synth sounds and Robert Johnson's beautifully constructed guitar riffs which provide a distinctive backdrop of desert surf psychedelia.

The other members of the group (Gustav Haggren, Per Henrik Adolfsson, Petter Bengtsson and Carl Johan Elger) are spread out over Europe, but will all reunite in Barcelona at the end of April for the shooting of the video and to play a crowdfunding show.
