Eloi Pascual quartet - Upcoming album release

In March 2025, I invited my new quartet — consisting of Chaerin Im (piano), Fabien Vuattoux (guitar), Matteo Mazzù (bass), and myself — to the studio to record the original music that will shape my second album.

With the music already mastered, I currently lack the funds to actually release it. That’s why I’ve decided to launch this campaign, for anyone who would like to help bring this work to life.

Who are we?

My name is Eloi Pascual and I'm a drummer and composer from Vigo (Spain) based in the Netherlands since 2017. In the final year of my studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, I formed my trio Amarea, with which I recorded my debut album in 2023, released in August 2024 under ZenneZ Records / Berthold Records.

This trio, recently expanded to a quartet, includes Korean pianist Chaerin Im (Sun-Mi Hong Quintet, Reinier Baas) and Belgian bassist Matteo Mazzù (Oracle Sisters, Mark Schilders), who have been my musical and personal companions since our very first week studying in Amsterdam.

Recently we were joined by French guitarist Fabien Vuattoux (CaptainHum, Good Golden Frogs), with whom I’d been developing a deep musical affinity over recent years, making him an essential part of this new musical direction.

The album was recorded at Wedgeview Studios (The Netherlands) by Udo Pannekeet, and mixed and mastered by Alessandro Mazzieri. Movement in the Distance will be released in fall 2025 under ZenneZ Records.

Why a crowdfunding campaign?

At the creative moment I was in, I found myself with a nearly complete new repertoire even before releasing the previous album.

Trying to align my professional path with my creative rhythm, I embarked on this new production, planning finances over a year ahead. For a musician, this is like trying to shoot a fly mid-air with a bow and arrow.

After being unable to secure funding this time (which I had successfully received for Amarea), I did manage to cover the music production costs — but not the remaining ones: graphic design, physical copies, copyright, and promotion.
