XP|30 – Il Canto Frammentato is an experimental musical short film lasting 30 minutes, divided into 14 scenes. It tells the story of four Sicilian women and their silent resistance, using voice, music, and imagery to explore memory, pain, and resilience.

The visual language of the film is deeply inspired by César Manrique’s artistic approach in Lanzarote, where nature becomes the stage and each element — the wind, the sand, the sea — acquires a life of its own, becoming a character in its own right.

The temporal structure is deliberately ambiguous, shifting between past and present, reality and dream, to emphasize the cyclical nature of trauma and memory. Each scene is a fragment, but together they form a complete emotional arc.

Visually, each character is defined by a specific color — red, green, blue, violet — not as an abstract symbol, but as a narrative device that connects each woman to a concrete emotional landscape:

  • Red: The fire of repressed rage and creative expression.

  • Green: The invisible weight of caregiving and domestic routine.

  • Blue: The melancholy of memories carried by the sea.

  • Violet: The silent resistance in the face of precariousness and need.

XP|30 focuses on a form of silent, persistent violence: the kind that is born from imposed silence. In a reality where women’s voices continue to be stifled, the film transforms a Sicilian folk song into an act of resistance, a timeless anthem that crosses borders and generations.

This campaign is focused on completing the post-production of the project through two concrete goals:

Producing a concept album inspired by the film

Submitting XP|30 to* international festivals* to give it the visibility it deserves

#03 / Tomorrow We Premiere in Palermo!

MQP Live From Palermo
MQP Live From Palermo

Good afternoon, friends, colleagues, and all the organizations that helped make this crowdfunding project possible.

I’m happy to announce that tomorrow XP|30: Il canto frammentato will be shown for the first time in Palermo—the city where everything started. It feels right to begin the promo tour in a place that welcomes art and opens its doors to everyone.

I won’t lie, I’m a bit nervous. This project has been with me for about a year, from the shoot to the long post-production process. During that time, it also inspired a soundtrack album, which includes some pieces that don’t appear in the film.

The short film runs 30 minutes and speaks about the strength of women, showing both power and vulnerability through song. It offers a new interpretation of Sicilian culture, inspired by Virità | Femminile singolare – plurale by Giusy Sciacca. Working on it has felt like returning to my roots—to music, and to the importance of what lyrics, rhythm, silence, and images can express. For me, this film is a visual journey where the voice tells the story, surrounded by simple and natural beauty.

The film is fully subtitled in Italian, since it includes not only Italian but also various Sicilian dialects. As it begins its festival journey, it will also be available with Spanish and English subtitles.

Before tomorrow’s premiere, I’d love to share the first six minutes with you as a preview. I’m also including two songs from the album—Lava, Lava, Lava and Ay, que arda!—which will be performed tomorrow by two local dancers from Palermo. This performance is part of my way of thanking you for supporting this project and believing in this new creation.

#02 / Prelude from XP|30: Il canto Frammentato Soundtrack (Official Music Video)

enter link description here

About a year ago, the XP|30 journey began — one of the most ambitious projects I have created so far, conceived as a tribute to Sicilian culture and womanhood.

Today, September 30th, I am thrilled to share with you one of the very first compositions from the conceptual album that will accompany a 30-minute short film: a voyage that explores different traits and styles to immerse us in the world of XP|30. The work draws inspiration from César Manrique’s artistic vision in Lanzarote, where nature itself becomes the stage and every element — the wind, the sand, the sea — takes on its own life, becoming a character in its own right.

On this occasion, I am proud to present Prelude, the opening piece of the album, crafted in collaboration with Sicilian director Sabrina Greco, who sought to capture this vision:

*On a cliff battered by the sea, a Sicilian woman dances as if in an ancestral ritual. Her figure,
