SYNOPSIS

"WE'LL GIVING BIRTH UNAFRAID, transforming the collective imagination of childbirth" is a documentary that shows that childbirth can become a positive and joyful experience if it is lived from information and awareness.

With this documentary we aim to transform the collective imagination that giving birth is something horrible and a bad trance that women have to go through, so that we can experience it as a natural process of transformation, awareness and connection.

For this reason, we will give a message of confidence so that you can come to experience pregnancy as a natural process and thus come to change the collective imagination that we have until now about childbirth and births.

We will take a tour through the history of childbirth and births to understand the moment we are in now, how we got here.

All this information is interspersed in the story of a couple who is pregnant and with interviews with professionals who explain their experience and vision, providing data, opinions and real facts.

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Ever since my first child was born I thought giving birth was a wonder, I enjoyed it so much!

And this was far removed from the collective imagination, of pain, fear and medicalization. That is why, with this documentary, I would like to show and demonstrate how such an intrinsic experience of life (such as labor and birth) can become an event lived from tranquility, pleasure and happiness.

I would like to show what the natural process of a birth is like, how a physiological birth develops without external interventions, from one's own naturalness and physiology so that this birth can be developed and lived with awareness and safety.

I want to show that there are and can be happy births and for this to happen there must be more information about the physiology of birth and also more experiences explained in society in order to gradually change the collective imagination . Because I think that positive references are needed around childbirth and births.

In fact, if we look at the representation of a part in most films or series, this fact is always around tragedy (or in some cases comedy), giving images that are not real and that contribute to one has an idea of ​​the parts as "bad", "dangerous" or "very painful".

To show free and happy parts, that's my goal.

THE TEAM

Direction, production and script - Alba Pifarré

Alba Pifarré is a novice film director, with more than 9 years of experience in the audiovisual world. He has an innate ability to tell stories sensitively and emotionally through a variety of projects.

He studied Social Education and later Audiovisual Communication at the University of Lleida and since then he has been working autonomously and independently in his own production company. In addition, he has never stopped training in various courses on documentary film and social communication.

Camera - Laura Castelo

Laura Castelo has been interested in the world of cinema since she was very young, she studied performing arts baccalaureate at the Màrius Torres high school in Lleida, the photography course at La Caparrella and has recently completed a diploma in cinematography and television at the Escola Catalana de Cinema i Televisió (ECCIT).

She has participated in the making-off of the film Alcarràs, by Carla Simón and her first short film "Pessic de Mel" has won several awards and recognitions.

Aline López - Screenwriter

Aline López is a psychologist and trained in film and screenwriting at the Catalan School of Cinema and Television (ECCIT). She has written and directed titles such as !Bzz! winner of the TaShortFest contest and "Me vas a olvidar" selected at the Girona Film Festival.

Since 2021, she has been working as a director of short films for Lleida City Council within the Youth Department and also as an assistant professor of psychology at the UdL.

Protagonist couple - Estela and Èrik

Estela and Èrik live in a town in the province of Lleida and she is pregnant with their second child. They are preparing for the birth and we will accompany them in all their processes and vital moments.

Planned calendar

This project has been underway for several months. From now on what remains is the following:

• SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER Completion of filming.

• NOV/DEC/JAN/FEB/MAR/APR/MAY Production pots (assembly, calibration and final export).

• MAY/JUNE Premiere

The premiere of the film will take place in the province of Lleida (probably in the city of Lleida) and also somewhere in the province of Barcelona.
