The second goal is €3,000 more for:

• Receive advice and professional guidance during this first year of launching my music. • Record a simple production of a third song: 560€ to record and produce a song with piano and voice.

• Improve the working conditions of the team and basically reciprocate the hours and dedication of Alfredo and Xènia, the two other people that make this possible. A 1.000€ to pay their time and skill invested in the project (Details below on sections "who I am" and "who are we").

• The remaining 240€ will go to the Verkami platform fee.

What we will achieve

With this campaign, I want to gather the resources to record my music professionally, starting with the first two songs and the editing of my first music video, as part of the necessary actions to promote myself as an artist and expand my musical community.

Currently, I have 12 registered songs as my own compositions, which I now sing in my concerts.

I’ve been composing for over 25 years, so there are many more! Some finished and others still in the creative process. My wish is to record my favorite ones from everything I’ve created, and release them to the world this year 2025, so I can continue with the new compositions and share the ones that keep coming!

How we will do it

With the creation of arrangements and professional recording of my songs.

The songs I write, much like children, come to life through oneself, but in truth they belong to life itself.

By sharing these songs in concert, I’ve received feedback from the people who’ve attended that deeply moves me! Emotion, tears, laughter, comfort, healing... Suddenly, the process of composing melodies and lyrics from life’s experiences its even more meaningful, because what is most intimate and personal is also collective and universal: human life with all its wonders and challenges.

Now I understand that songs have their own destiny: they travel, touch hearts and accompany beings through their journey on Earth. Therefore, this Verkami campaign is to record them in a professional studio so they can be shared in high quality and also to make myself visible as an artist, expand my musical community, and support myself and my family, so I can continue creating and growing as a musician and singer.

Who I am

They call me Gabi, but my birth name is Gabrielle. I was born in France, raised in Nice and in Barcelona city and province (Vilafranca). I’ve been singing since I was little for fun, and I began consciously creating songs with lyrics, melodies, and accompanying myself with the guitar at the age of 12, thanks to my grandmother’s neighbors, Thierry et Denis, who at the time taught me a couple of chords and lent me a guitar. During my adolescence, I practiced classical singing, and after finishing school, I studied modern singing and musical theater. For 28 years, I haven’t stopped writing, and as a singer, I’ve worked in several bands with various styles. From pop rock to bolero orchestras, soul big bands, bossa nova, and reggae, but what makes sense to me is singing what comes from personal experience, what is most alive and intimate, yet seems to be the most universal and connects best with the audience. The fact that my ancestors come from different places and that I have lived in various countries shapes and influences the music I create, resulting in a mix of styles and lyrics written in Spanish, Catalan, English, and French.

In 2019, after 10 years of fully dedicating myself to the raising and education of my children, the intense need to pursue and nourish my vocation and profession as a musician, singer-songwriter, and yoga and voice teacher emerged.

At that time, I created Cultiva la Conexión, a project offering classes and retreats where I facilitate self-care practices (such as yoga and therapeutic voice work) promoting self-awareness, empowerment in health, and well-being. This dream started in Puerto Rico with Lisa, my neighbor at the time, also a yoga teacher and close friend. Gradually, more professionals joined, and together we co-created beautiful, deep, and expansive connection experiences (both personal and with the group).

Another key person in the development of the project is Alfredo: a friend, filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist, who at that time was documenting the retreat experiences, thus helping to spread the word about them. We formed a team right at the beginning of the recording of my music in Puerto Rico, alongside Larry and Miranda, two extraordinary musicians who offered me to record my songs with them in the studio. The process was delayed and eventually interrupted by the global situation with the lockdowns and the family circumstances of moving to another country. Everything achieved so far is thanks to the commitment and dedication we’ve had as the main drivers of the project.

In the last 2 years, I have started to rebuild my human network in Catalunya, where I am blessed with the love and support of my family: my mom and my sister, Madi and Èlia, artists who accompany me in my passion and life project, along with the beautiful community in Mediona. I am fortunate to be finding more beautiful heart-family with whom I can share this adventure. I continue cultivating my singing practice and composing music, exploring the possibilities of the voice, and co-creating with wonderful musicians and singers nearby. Aura and Biel, friends and incredible musicians who contribute wholeheartedly to the creation of arrangements, home recording of my music, and concerts; Xus, my soul friend, home, and place, where this year, overcoming my stage fright, I dared to sing a complete set of my own songs in a concert, and it was a true joy.

In October, I had the opportunity to sing part of my repertoire again in a concert with amazing musicians at the Festival Per Tu, an initiative to raise awareness of grief, driven by Sandra and David, which filled the community with life and nourishment.

Who are we

Currently, Xènia has joined this adventure of recording and releasing the music to the world! She is a friend and yoga practice partner, and she is bringing focused action, peace, and lightness to this next step, of which you are already a part as a patron! With her, we have completed the team (for now).

How your contribution will be used

Upon reaching the first goal (3,000€), we will invest:

• 1,000 euros for the recording of each song = 2,000€
  
  (to pay for the studio, production, and musicians)

• 760 euros for technical team expenses and music video editing

  • reward expenses
    (printing and shipping art on cards and prints)

• The remaining 240 euros will go to the Verkami platform fee.

When the first goal is reached in the first days of the campaign, we can move on to the second goal (an additional 3,000€). The funds raised will be used for:

Expected Timeline

Since the campaign ends at the end of January, we plan to start recording the first two songs in February. We’ll take our time until April to do it well, beautifully, and without rush.

Once the songs are recorded, we will finish the music video editing by April.

If the first goal is reached quickly, the target will be to achieve the second goal: giving me the real opportunity to launch my professional career as a musician and singer-songwriter, with the guidance and mentorship of Modern Musician. https://www.modern-musician.com/

REWARDS TIMELINE

Each reward we offer has a different delivery date, depending on the prior process required. If a reward includes more than one element, you will receive them as they are ready, according to the indicated dates below:

• For those who want to soak up light and hope (private concerts for individuals) and For companies that want to sprinkle light and hope (private concerts for companies) will be available from January 2025 to January 2026. During this year, the date must be agreed upon with the artist.

• "The downpours of inspiration already lived," meaning the recording of Gabrielle's first two concerts, will be sent shortly after the campaign ends, in February.

• The online concert by Gabrielle ("For those who want a downpour of light and hope") will take place on Sunday, February 9th at 18:00.

• The digital prints of the two watercolors by Helena Carreras ("Drops on a Canvas") will be delivered in February.

• "Your personal drop," which consists of a customized song composed by Gabrielle, will be delivered between February and June, in order of demand.

• "Every drop counts," meaning the download of the two recorded songs before their release + the viewing of the music video, will be delivered in April.

• "A bigger drop," the artistic card illustrated by Madi Vilà-Geis, signed and dedicated by Gabrielle, will be delivered in April, along with the making-of of the song recordings and the music video.
