(The Poacher)

In the midst of the jungle, chaos reigns, sparked by a series of characters, each with their own mission: to capture or rescue wild animals.

Gameplay

Each player strives to capture the most animals before others, with various game modes and difficulty levels to tailor entertainment to the players.

Mechanism

In each turn, players draw a card from the stack of weapon and character cards. If it's a weapon card, they flip a card from the stack of animal cards. If it can be captured, the player keeps it. If the weapon doesn't match, it remains, allowing other players to memorize its position. If a character card is drawn, the corresponding actions are carried out.

With the game, you can:

Challenge your friends and family by competing to capture more animals than them, testing both memory and luck.

Change the course of the game with character cards and enjoy fun-filled moments as you get closer to victory. You can also customize your experience by choosing the difficulty level and length of the game.

Additionally, you have the option to combine multiple decks to play longer games and entertain larger groups, fun is guaranteed for everyone!

The goal of this campaign is to bring this card game to life. It's a project that has taken a lot of time and dedication to develop, design, improve, and patent its various components to introduce it to the public. Thanks to the funding obtained, people will be able to enjoy it with their friends and family, offering a form of entertainment that harkens back to a bygone era, without the need for digital devices. It provides the most valuable aspect a game can offer: shared fun.

Setup

Shuffle the 25 weapon cards with the 7 characters cards and place them in a face-down pile. Then, shuffle the 35 animal cards into three roughly equal face-down piles. If one of the piles of animal cards runs out during the game, cards will be drawn from under the other piles to create the third pile.

Gameplay

  • The player who shuffles and places the cards begins the game, and it proceeds clockwise. In the next game, the player who ended the previous game with fewer animal cards than the others will start.

  • In each turn, a card is drawn from the pile of weapons and characters. If it's a character, its instructions are followed. If it's one of the weapon cards, a card from one of the animal card piles is revealed, but it's only taken if it can be captured with the held weapon. The captured animal card is placed face down near the player without changing its orientation. If the animal cannot be captured with the weapon, the card is left as it was. (See the "Game Cards" section for more information).

  • Only one animal card and one weapon or character can be taken per turn, unless a character card states otherwise.

  • The cards taken are briefly shown to the other players for them to memorize their contents and positions.

  • After taking the action of the weapon or character card or, if no action can be taken because players have no available cards, the game proceeds to the next turn.

  • Weapon and characters cards are placed in a separate pile after each turn and shuffled to replace the current pile when it's depleted.

Game Length

  • The Poacher: The game ends when a player has five animal cards in their possession, and that player wins.

  • Extended: The game ends when the animal cards in all three piles are exhausted. The player with the most animals wins.

  • Custom: The game ends when a player reaches the agreed-upon number of animal cards before starting the game, and that player wins.

  • Extended: Multiple decks can be used to accommodate more players or extend the game's duration. For each additional deck, up to five more players can join.

Difficulty Levels

  • The Poacher: Three piles of animal cards are placed face down.

  • Difficult: Six piles of animal cards are placed face down.

  • Extreme: All animal cards are placed face down without forming piles.

  • Custom: The agreed-upon number of piles of animal cards is placed face down before starting the game.

Each deck consists of 67 cards, along with two cover cards (one for animal cards and one for weapon and characters), instructions, and a storage box. The cards are distributed as follows:

Animals (35 cards)

  • Piranha (7 cards): Can be captured with the fishing rod or fishing rod.

  • Tiger (7 cards): Can be captured with the spear or rifle.

  • Toucan (7 cards): Can be captured with the rifle or bird trap.

  • Crocodile (7 cards): Can be captured with the spear, rifle, or crocodile net.

  • Bear (7 cards): Can be captured with the spear or rifle.

Weapons (25 cards)

  • Fishing rod (5 cards).

  • Rifle (5 cards).

  • Bird trap (5 cards).

  • Crocodile net (5 cards).

  • Spear (5 cards).

Characters (7 cards)

  • Poacher card (1 card): Allows the player to keep a card from any of the three animal card piles.

  • Ranger card (1 card): Allows the player to take a card from the weapon and character cards, and to reveal a card from any player's animal cards. If the weapon can capture the animal, they keep it; otherwise, the card stays where it was. If another character card is revealed or no players have any cards, the turn passes to the next player.

  • King card (1 card): Allows the player to keep a card from any player or from any of the three animal card piles.

  • Tax Collector card (1 card): Forces the other players to discard one of their cards, placing them under the animal card piles.

  • Villain card (1 card): Allows a player to remove 2 cards from another player, chosen by the person who draws this card. Then, these cards are placed under one of the three animal card piles.

  • Traitor card (1 card): Allows a player to remove all cards from another player, chosen by the person who draws this card. Then, these cards are placed under one of the three animal card piles.

  • Priest card (1 card): Requires the player to discard 2 of their cards when they draw this card, placing them under the animal card piles.

We greatly value your contribution to making this dream a reality, and as a token of our appreciation, we want to reward you.

About Me

This game has been created by a young designer who has dedicated their life to learning and appreciating creativity in all aspects of life. After creating several board games, the decision was made to elevate one to its highest level to share it with the rest of humanity. To make this dream a reality, your help is needed, and that's why we're requesting your contribution to transform this dream into the grandest of all. This game aims to provide the benefits of a design that promotes learning about animals and how they could be hunted, enhances memory with each play, and, of course, brings entertainment to people in the flesh, as we're becoming increasingly distant from that in the digital age.

How Your Contributions Will Be Used

The contributions will be dedicated to the manufacturing and distribution of this game, and to its own advertising. All this so that it can be made known to the greatest number of people and that everyone can enjoy, admire and benefit from this fantastic entertainment that we want to make available to the consumer.

Projected Timeline

As soon as the campaign ends, a process will begin to manufacture the game, which can take between 3 and 6 months. Afterward, the rewards will be sent out, and the game will be marketed, with advertising campaigns running concurrently.

Once these funds are secured, a website will be launched, and various social media accounts will be created to introduce it to the public.
