I'm back!!

For those who don't know me, I'm TroffaĦamra, a Maltese musician and singer songwriter living in Barcelona. In Malta I used to play the clarinet and saxophone with various bands, but when I arrived in Barcelona, 13 years ago, I decided to start singing my songs, both on the streets and on stage. "TroffaĦamra y los Mechones" was my first band and together we recorded 2 albums and 1 single, and had a lot of fun playing in various venues around Barcelona.

In 2017 I became promoted to a mum, and whilst I never stopped singing and writing, I took a break from the life of the performer.

New Album

But here I am now, looking forward to share my music once again! This summer I recorded at Temple Studios in Malta, a long dream of mine! I was accompanied by some of the best Maltese musicians: Oliver Degabriele (bass), Michael Galea (drums and percussion), Mark Żiżża (drums and perc), Fiorella Camilleri (flute), Mario Borġ (sax), Javier Manzanares (cornet), Mariele Żammit (voice), Franco Tartaglia (electric guitar) and Mark Attard (keyboards). It was so much fun and such a learning experience!

The result is "Weġgħat Żgħar" (small aches) - my new album, mostly in the Maltese language, where I share bittersweet stories from motherhood and living far away. It includes 2 collaborations: with Annamaria Bonnici, my life-long friend and writer, who also happens to live far away and has recently become a mother, and Will Shank, an artist and father who recently suffered a stroke which brought us together through music therapy. The sound of the album is special because my writing style is fused with David Vella's sorcery (music producer at Temple Studios) and the result is....¿¿MAGIC??

Crowdfunding Campaign and Contributions

I am launching this crowdfunding campaign with the aim of finishing the project by producing and launching the album, first in Malta and later on in Barcelona.

The cost of the recording and all it entails was already paid by yours truly, and it wasn't exactly cheap. BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!! Now I would really appreciate your help, by buying the cd in advance (there are other options), and you'd be helping me finish this big project.

The sum of 2000€ will be used for the artwork and graphic design (by artist Rachel Bowman - I promise you it will be awesome), the production of the cds, and the cost of the launches in Malta and in Barcelona. And maybe a music video!
