El viaje de Lindo

"El viaje de Lindo" is an animated short film based on real events. Lindo, a dog that lived with a Republican family during the Spanish Civil War.

Maria, the mother of the director Josep Viciana, always told him the story she lived when she was little, about her dog Lindo and which dates back to 1936, just before the start of the Spanish Civil War. Maria with her family and the people who had been loyal to the Republic, are forced to leave the town fleeing the Francoist troops.

Those who leave are families who leave behind their possessions and from that moment on, only uncertainty, misery and, in many cases, death await them. During the escape, the families are constantly attacked by aviation, in one of these attacks, Lindo is starved and given up for dead, they leave him in the ditch of the road but, hours later he recovers and starts the way back to the which one left

During the journey, Lindo will witness the atrocities, hatred and destruction that wars generate. Although Lindo's terrifying story took place in the Spanish Civil War, unfortunately it continues to happen in many places around the world.

Over the course of a year, we have developed the script, the character design and an elaborate storyboard for the short film "El viaje de Lindo".

We are in the animation process, making the sets set in the 1930s and creating the soundtrack and final editing.

The animation type is the traditional animation in 2D.

In order to finish the short film we have developed a crowdfunding campaign through Verkami, with your help we want to be able to finish the short.

We want to tell the true story of Lindo, a dog who travels along roads where people from the Spanish Civil War flee. They are families who left their possessions behind and now only uncertainty, misery and in some cases, death await them.

About us

Josep Viciana is a creator, screenwriter and director of series and films, specialized in television series animation. During his career, he has worked at the companies D'Ocon Films and Neptuno Films, from which such well-known products have emerged as "Los Fruittis", "Los Aurones", "Delfy y sus amigos", "El Ugly Duckling", "Connie the Cow", Detective Bogey or "Dougie's Costumes". With his products he has collaborated with companies and television networks such as TV3, TVE, Andalucía TV, Alliance Atlantis, Antena 3, Noggin, BRB International, Animasia, TV Loonland, Disney UK, NRD, Discovery Kids LA.

Josep Roig Boada, musician, composer, sound technician and producer. His activity has been and is mainly the composition of soundtracks for films, television series and animated series such as: “Los Aurones”, “The Fruitties”, “Delfy”, “Balin”, “ Sea Princesses”, “Megaminimals”, “La vaca Connie", "Tex" and recently the series "Aquest conte no s'ha terminat". He also participates in composing for short films, audiovisuals and theater. Roig He has produced and collaborated with numerous musicians on their projects, both as a sound technician and through the record label Temps Record.

The Viciana-Roig tandem continue creating new projects with the enthusiasm of the first day, accompanied by collaborators who make them a reality.

What will we use your contributions for?

If we achieve our goal, we will finish the animation process, creation of the sets set in the 1930s and the creation of the soundtrack with the final montage.

Any amount that exceeds the budget will be invested in the promotion and presentation of national and international short films at festivals.

Planned schedule

• Animation completion: July 2024

• Final assembly: August 2024

• Short film premiere: fall 2024

The expected timetable for completing the project will be about nine months. From this date, we will begin to deliver the rewards.

During all this time, we will inform you (through social networks) where we are in the production.
