Canciones a Medianoche (Midnight songs)

THE PROJECT

Canciones a Medianoche is a project for a short film about María, a mature woman, frustrated by the lack of attention of her husband and the lost of her youth. But the coming of Pierre to the neighborhood, a young foreigner, will make her remember her unfulfilled dreams.

Canciones a Medianoche talk about universal feelings as fear to failure , a la loneliness, death. Feelings so pure of the human nature that gain real importance in elderly, that impatient and forgotten people as their own memories.

Complex themes, as complex as human relationships, difficult to understand. And it is here where we focus our story, in this so pure state of the human nature, in those little details that make our hearts hop, in that beauty that surrounds everything we see daily.

WHO WE ARE

The film is directed by Sergio Siruela and Sergio Moreno

Sergio Siruela studied direction and realization in the Cinematographic School TAI, where he graduated with Absolutionis, in 2007 he founded Kirufilms Producciones and directs Transporte 9mm. In 2008 he worked in Latin America lecturing in cinema schools and universities, there he worked as Senior Production in the tv series Águilas, con C de campeón. Back in Spain he starts to collaborate as director and scriptwriter in the Production Gemusic producciones and in projects as Atrapado en la ficción

Sergio Moreno also studied in the Cinematographic School TAI where in 2008 he films Atnit two years before he films his first short film Inmago. His works goes from propaganda cinema up to plastic artists. Author of some novels as Trastos, charcos y otros sueños or his last novel Intersticio

ACTORS

María will be interpreted by Gracia Olayo and Soledad Olayo

Gracia has a long experience in theatre with her company “las veneno”. And a great career in Television in series as Mujeres from the Almodovar desk or Los Protegidos from Antena 3. In cinema she has worked with Alex de la Iglesia in 800 balas o Balada triste de trompeta, among many others.

Soledad, twin sister of Gracia and with a large television career, that will make as cover of María's imagination.

Pierre will be interpreted by Ignacio Ysasi, licensed in scenic arts by Superior School of Scenic Arts of Seville, with a long carrer in theatre, television and cinema.

Adela will be interpreted by Andrea Mulhova, recognized model and advertising actress from the Agency Wanted. She has worked in lots of advertising spots and in the movie Todo es silencio de José Luis cuerda

INFORMATION

The part of the budget received from Verkami will be spent mostly in the rent of equipment and the payment of basic services of filming, as well as the costs of distribution and promotion.

It will be filmed in Digital Cinema with the Black Magic cameras.

Subtitles: the film will have subtitles in English in French and Spanish
