Jaula de Vapor

The short film Jaula de Vapor is an adiovisual adaptation of the play “Lurrun Minez” by Galder Pérez. This play, already premiered and performed with great success throughout the Basque Country, tells the story of three people who meet at Christmas in a gay sauna.

How did it start?

The project came up after reading Galder's text, we liked the idea of ​​talking about a romance in an unconventional place, such as the sauna, and giving the viewer another vision beyond what could be seen on stage. With that idea, we started working on it and we have been developing the project since April 2022 (our families know it well). Since then we have worked on the adaptation of the script, had conversations with Galder, done castings, put the technical team together, etc.

The "Jaula de Vapor" project was presented for the first time at the Santurtzi Film Festival (October 2022), within the Short Film Creation Forum. In front of a jury, we defended this project and got the €500 prize awarded by EITB (Basque Public Radio Television). Now we present it to you so we can take the last step of this project before shooting it, and we want you to be a fundamental part and seed of this short. Synopsis

A meeting of three men on New Year's Eve in a gay sauna. Desires, parties, frustrations, sexual attractions, power and many other issues will be mixed between vapors. What begins as a night of peace and good omens will soon become the scene of a love triangle from which none of our three protagonists will be able to get out.

About the short film

Filming will take place in Bilbao and locations in Bizkaia in April, with a great team very excited to move this project forward. We have months of intense work ahead of us, but rest assured that, if you bet on this project, we will give 200% of ourselves so that Jaula de Vapor is a good product and you feel a very proud patron.
