THE IDEA
When I thought about making a new album I gave it a lot of thought, it's not easy to find inspiration in these musical times and I didn't want it to be just another album in which I composed some touches in different flamenco styles and that's it, I wanted it to be something special.
At that time I was listening to Manolo Sanlucar's Tauromágia album a lot again and I thought why not make a concept album, an album that was a story, that would inspire me and surely I could create something different, or at least something based on different feelings that is what motivates me to compose.
TITLE
This is how LAS HUELLAS DE DIOS was born, an album in which I have made a beautiful journey and in which I put music to different moments in the life of PACO DE LUCIA.
Why THE FOOTPRINTS OF GOD?
First, because Paco is a God for the vast majority of guitarists and guitar fans in the world, in fact I recently came across these words, which I share with you as a small but beautiful anecdote, in a precise article by Alejandro Luque entitled THE INMORTAL:
They say that the Algerian singer Khaled, on his first visits to Spain, could only say three words in our language, but very well said. “Paco is God.”
Second, because I believe that God manifests himself in these types of people who are so extremely great that they are capable of changing the course of history and making the whole world fall in love with just their presence.
And third, because the creation of the album has been a trip back to my childhood, to start again to follow in the footsteps of the Master, going through his life, imagining moments in which I was not yet born and reliving those that I have had. lucky to witness.
EL CONTENIDO:
1- San Francisco Street:
Here I am transported, as in the book Caballo de Troya by J.J Benitez, to Christmas 1947 in which Paco de Lucia had just been born.
2- El Greco
I composed this Colombian song thinking about the moment when Paco de Lucia went on tour for the first time with José Greco's company in the United States.
3- Street Illustration
For this buleria I remembered the images from the wonderful series Rito y Geografía del cante, where Paco appears in the kitchen of the family home on Calle Ilustration in Madrid. That way of keeping the rhythm, now obsolete, was the first reason I had in mind to start creating this piece.

4- The Messiah
One of the most important encounters in the history of flamenco… It is not easy for two such extremely brilliant artists to coincide in time and many of us had the good fortune to live at the same time.
5- A New World
The immersion in other styles such as Jazz was something fundamental in the musical growth of Paco de Lucia, which in turn was the growth of the language of flamenco. Everything changed from there.
In this piece I have sought above all to have fun with a musician that I greatly admire, such as Tito Alcedo.
6- Antonio and Luzia
I believe that the loss of his parents was a turning point in the Master's life.
7- Xpu-Há
He said that in this place in the Mexican Caribbean he managed to be in a magical state, a truly magical state he emphasized...
And in that place it became eternal….
8- Eternal
A long time ago I composed the first part of this last piece of the album, I never knew where to place it, until it found its place by itself...
Let's celebrate his life and his immeasurable legacy.
9- Bonus Track(Only in the book-CD)
Some alegrías that I composed when I was 17 years old and that I recorded in the basement of Ramón de Algeciras' house in Getafe when I was 19 years old.
I loved playing in that basement because it had really good reverb and even though the recording is on cassette it sounds pretty good.
This album is accompanied by a very personal book.
Only and exclusively through this campaign can this edition be purchased with the book where I tell you about some of the experiences I had with Paco de Lucia since I was little.
I tell you how my childhood was and how I discovered his figure, how he trapped me for life.
The different moments in which I was with him, with his family…
How she trembled with his presence, how imposing being by her side...
How was that one day when I was able to relax talking to him and he heard me sing for the first time, that was like a farewell gift….
It includes photographs from my personal archive, some with the Master at different times in my life.
One of the special rewards you can get are the lyrics that I sing in three of the pieces on this album written by me and limited to a single copy.

WHAT AM I GOING TO ALLOCATE WHAT WE RAISE BETWEEN EVERYONE
As I would love for LAS HUELLAS DE DIOS to have many Godfathers and Godmothers, we have designed different forms of collaboration and Patronage for all of you who want to contribute to this new work seeing the light.
Like all the projects I do, I am always very demanding with the final quality, whether it be the music, the sound or the design of the album. It is a totally acoustic work, where there are many people involved and for this reason it is a fairly large project.
I like to do things as they were done before, taking musicians to recording studios of the highest quality and this album deserves no less, quite the opposite.
Now you have the opportunity to collaborate directly in the birth of a new work, your support is fundamental and it will be very nice that with the efforts of all of us we give life to LAS HUELLAS DE DIOS.
To prevent us from not reaching the goal set and staying on the verge of making the project a reality, I have decided to lower expectations and target Verkami with only half of the total budget.
I list the concepts where what we collect is destined:
The first thing is the composition of the album, without that there is no album, and I do not count that part, although it takes years of work and effort without receiving any economic remuneration, nor do I count the recording of my guitars, which I make in my studio .
I NEED YOUR HELP FOR:
- Recording studios where I will record percussion, clapping, choirs, etc…
- The musicians who collaborate on the album.
- Sound technician to record the different musicians.
- Travel expenses and allowances for musicians.
- Mixing and mastering of the album. This is the last process where color and quality is given to each instrument and to the sound of the album in general. For this task I always count on one of the best sound engineers in Spain, Mr. Oscar Vinader.
- The making of the painting that will be the album cover by the artist from Algeciras, Marga Guinea.
- The realization of the design of the book and booklet of the conventional CD.
- The manufacture of the Book-CD and the normal CD.
SCHEDULED SCHEDULE
When the campaign ends (successfully I hope 🙌🏼) start with the recordings of the musicians.
January/February mixing and mastering of the album
