Gabriele Deiana's new album: Georgina's Rumba

• This step will allow the printing of 300 vinyls that are quite expensive to produce and are in such high demand that manufacturers cannot meet the orders.

• The vinyl will have these characteristics: 180g seawater color, gatefold (book style) with 3 inserted pages with the history of the project.

New goal € 3000: printing on the back side of the t-shirts!

• The next step is to reach 3000 € to print on the T-Shirt back side the names of the songs and/or musicians who have played and participated in the project.

The album

• This is my first official studio album on which I have worked in Madrid for a few years. It is a compilation of 10 original songs and a cover by J. McLaughlin surrounding Georgina's Rumba: an unpublished flamenco rumba that I composed in 1992 when I was 20 years old.

• The album covers other styles and different fusions: latin/jazz, son montuno, flamenco/jazz, bolero, zamba argentina, tropical pop, contemporary instrumental. Despite this variety, the general result is quite organic since all the compositions go back, in a certain way, to the family of Latin styles and the guitar always remains the protagonist.

La Media Naranja (tribute to Cuba)

• The most energetic song on the album La Media Naranaja (a modern salsa with influences of funk, rock, rap and cumbia) with the gorgeus venezuelan voice of Frederlyn Mayora. You can now listen to it on all platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music) it will be the only track available online.

• The videoclip of this song will be available on my Official Youtube Channel from Tuesday October 18.

• Each of the songs are like notes from a trip of almost 30 years. From my experience as a sailor in the tall ship Amerigo Vespucci where I had my baptism into Latin music in San Juan of Puerto Rico (June 1992) until those last years in Madrid, city to the which I owe it a lot for having found a musical scene very close to my way of playing.

• The 36 musicians that participate in the album are specialists in their own musical field, some of them are internationally recognized. To name a few Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent played with Paco de Lucia for 18 years while Alain Perez and Ivan "Melon" Lewis this year received Latin Grammy. In any case, most of them have participated in very important productions, reaching several nominations and awards.

ABOUT REWARDS

You can reserve vinyl CDs and T-shirts (white and black), all with the cover drawn by hand: a watercolor made by the illustrator Gianluigi Concas from Sardinia that synthesizes a bit of the story of the main theme: too long to be told here! Having the physical format will be the opportunity to have a tangible memory of a very wide and perhaps very daring project in these times. I've done without a label and only with my savings (video clips included). On the other hand that has allowed me to take the music where I wanted without compromises.

It is very important to evaluate and choose the shipments according to your own needs, without reserving one of the 3 shipping options national (Italy), European or international the reward will be treated as hand delivery exclusively in Olbia (Italy) or in Madrid center.

The CD

• This format will be a triptych digipack in cardboard and will have all the 15 songs of the project plus the photos and credits of all the participating musicians. Also this format has 4 edit versions (a radio edit and 3 instrumentals).

  

T-Shirts

• The t-shirts are made of 100% cotton and have the disc cover printed on the front. A watercolor handmade by the Sardinian illustrator Gianluigi Concas.

The Vinyl

• This format would be gatefold (book) weight 180 grams in color and will have a 3-page insert (6 sides) with the story behind this project: an Oscar movie script!

Who I am

My name is Gabriele Deiana, I come from the beautiful island of Sardinia. I have been a guitarist and composer for more than 30 years. My academic training took place in Bologna where I have obtained higher degrees in classical guitar, jazz and musicology. Throughout my artistic activity I have composed many unpublished original songs and this is the first time that I have decided to publish something official. In Italy I have collaborated with some of the best jazz musicians (C. Atti, N. Menci, G. Bianchetti, A. Altarocca). I have played in some of the best jazz clubs in Italy and have opened concerts for Micheal Brecker and Jerry Bergonzi. With my arrival in Madrid I have finished my album that includes some of the best musicians in Spain.
