      • Receive an introductory lesson on the txalaparta by one of the members of the group KIMU TXALAPARTA, our ‘txalapartaris’ (txalaparta players)!

      The class will consist of a brief introduction to the instrument’s history, its development and a short hands-on lesson of around one hour in total. The classes will be in Donostia-San Sebastian once the crowdfunding campaign is finished, on an agreed date. We will get in touch with you!

      BASABI is born with the aim of popularising classical music and taking the txalaparta outside its natural space.

      The sound of the txalaparta transforms the acoustics of the string instruments into something more alive and organic, creating shows where accessibility and experimentation are the essence. In this way, the group creates their own language that responds to their views, to escape from limitations and labels.

      In ‘Kronos’ the stone txalaparta plays the leading role, where it displays all entire range of sound through minimalist compositions of cinematographic inspiration. With these timeless sounds a new path is opened up towards introspection in a society marked by technological changes and new ways of communication.

      What we will do with your contributions

      At present, ‘Kronos’ is recorded and edited. We need a little financial push to convert our work into a physical format.

      The CDs will be ready for distribution just before and after our first concert (30th January in Bilborock, Bilbao)
