Choose your reward

Our goal is to make a run of "100 ENTERTAINING SHORT STORIES to practice your Spanish in present tense" with an acceptable distribution and a good digital positioning.

It's a book with a hundred short stories for students of basic-level Spanish designed to lay the foundations of the language (grammar structure, vocabulary, present conjugation), getting the stuck foreigner out of his/her comfort zone and pushing forward to the next level.

The student will appreciate a book to work the structure in present tense in a less tedious way than with the typical text books. It´s a recipe that has already passed the “clinical trials” with my own students, and I would like to share it with those who want to learn Spanish.

It is also the first piece of “Tiradas Clandestinas”, a publishing label with which I have the intention of bringing to light my own and other´s texts.

About the rewards

Rewards vary from a copy of the book (signed or unsigned), packs of books for language institutes/universities etc; on-line class; shirt and bag from fhsince.com with the motto “ "I´m guiri, so what?"

**Guiri **is a funny and nice word used in Spain to refer to foreigners, especially those typical tourists wearing sunscreen on their noses, hats, socks with sandals… for that reason some foreign people that already live in Spain but are from the countries that typically bring tourists to Spain (US, UK, northern Europe) are called also “guiri” by their friends, as a funny thing but not offensive.

About us

This is Patricia Lorente, a Spanish teacher, a writer and a publisher at Tiradas Clandestinas.

Writing is my true passion, although rewards are coming very slowly. I´m looking for a balance, trying to find my place outside of the big industry, where there´s no space for me at the moment. Now I have created my own label. I want to be my own project. I admire brave people that carried out their own projects such as Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, Virginia Woolf, García Lorca or Beatrix Potter.

I have people by my side that are helping me a lot. That´s why I sometimes speak in plural. They are very special people. It would have been impossible to get here without their help. This project is dedicated to them.

How will your contributions be allocated

The collection will be destined to a large run of books, to cover selling commissions and expenses from the rewards (t-shirts and bags made by fhsince.com, packaging, shipments, classes, etc), as well as to pay for professional management for the selling and positioning of the book in digital media so that it can be accessible and available in several platforms.

Schedule

Once the Verkami deadline expires, rewards will arrive to Madrid City on the 5th of January since it will be a personal delivery. For the rest of Spain, rewards will arrive before the 10th of January.
For the rest of the world, it depends on their postal services. We calculate shippings will arrive throughout the month of January.
