SYNOPSIS
The flowers of Dingri is a documentary film that tries to show the lifes of three
Tibetan Buddhist Lamas over 80 years old who are living in exile in a
monastery in Nepal the last five decades, after the invasion of Tibet that China
made in 1949 .
The film will try to delve into the soul of a people living in exile, deprived by
taxation and how to live with the sufferings, sorrows, joys, memories, hopes ...
from a poetic point of view to narrate from within themselves all the feelings and
sensations they feel, after having lived most of his life in the distance.
The intention of this project arises is to show the absence from home for
taxation, the loss on being exiled by force in which only manages to stay intact
in a spiritual way through the memories they have of their lifes and experience
in Tibet, his homeland, with an introspective and poetic form. It helps the
contemplation of all big and small things, from sunsets to be a reflection of the
end of their lifes to the most minute and secret reflection of a life led to
contemplation. Also, the film reflects the change of generation and how it
compares in a subtle generational changes of young monks who see life in a
different way influenced by modernity and how this transition is a time to absorb
everything in a living in the monastery, although the story is focused on all
those memories and feelings that are lost in time, for failing to live the life they
touched and how you feel so spiritually amputee.
COLLABORATIONS ** **
With this idea, attempting to make a story that reflects feelings from a poetic
perspective, both the voice and the images have to lead to a very personal and
profound message, so that story is being carried out by the runner Planeta
Prize of literature Salvador Compan, which is shaping the voices writing the
texts from the presence of poetic concepts that will shape the thoughts and
memories of the Lamas. In turn, the voice will be embodied by various actors
and actresses like Kevin Gage (which has worked with Robert de Niro and Al
Pacino in Michael Mann's Heat), Peter Coyote (has worked with Steven
Spielberg, Steven Sodelberg, Roman Polanski, Sydney Pollack and Barry
Levinson) and Bénédcite Loyen (she has worked on films of Jean Luc Godard,
Eric Rohmer or Tony Gatilf). All the material is shooted so it only needs the
postproduction work.
Also we are negociating for the licence for using the music of R. Carlos Nakai
and Ludovico Einaudi. They agree with giving the licence so it only needs some
time to get it for the film.
