THE FALL OF HISPANIA is a strategic board game set on the Iberian Peninsula during the last century of Roman administration. Up to four players will dispute the dominion of Hispania throughout ten rounds of the game.
The game is a simple wargame using resource management and diplomacy giving it a touch of Eurogame with some resemblance to the popular "Britannia". Several prototypes have been tested over the last two years with players from Spain and France. The game has met with a positive response at local games fairs such as Excideiul at the end of 2016

The components of the game will be entirely purchased from European companies, which guarantees us an efficient control over their manufacture and transport (no containers traveling from China ...).
The game engine is a deck of cards that marks the development of turns. Other cards, of each player, serve to modify the combats, the movement or to realize some special action.
Several leaders can command the armies, increasing their ability to move and their fighting power. However, and based on the uncertainty of this dark and exciting age, some of these leaders may not even come into the play.
The mites, the coins of the game, little pieces of the Roman world. Here we can compare them with a 20 cent euro coin.
The Fall of Hispania consists of 10 turns of game. At the beginning of each turn a deck of cards is formed, consisting of common cards and specific cards. The specific cards appear in certain turns, while the common cards are kept in the deck every turn.
According to progress the game reveals the cards, making the players the actions described in each card. These actions can be carried out by all the players (move, combat ...) or only by some player (appearance of a leader, reinforcements, ...). The cards also determine certain events, such as riots bagaudas, or attacks of the burgundi.
Each player, in turn, has a small deck of cards that serves to modify the actions of the game.
The objective of the game is to accumulate victory points, which are achieved by dominating areas of the board, conventus, or by special actions such as the conquest of Carthago, to stop the Huns, etc.

The Fall of Hispania can improve its components if funding increases. We have prepared a series of rewards that patrons will get once the limits are reached.
We increased from 50 to 54 the deck of cards, including four important cards: Majoriano, Asentamiento, Burgundii y Herulos Pirates.
With these cards you gain replayability, introducing new options into the game.
Four aid sheets in size DINA 5, where players can have a summary of their faction and a place to store their treasure and reserve armies during the course of the game.
A comfortable cotton bag, to keep coins and wooden cubes.

The English language edition will be fully translated with both a printed and downladable rule book. All game cards will be also be printed in English. The board remains the same across all editions as it is not language dependant.

The mites were high-imperial coins of very little value. The mites of the Fall of Hispania are made of a zinc alloy that makes them as durable, at least, as the Roman coins they represent.
Shipping costs are not included in your pledge. After the campaign has concluded we will ask you to pay for shipping during the "Pledge Manager" phase.

The Fall of Hispania is not a pre-sale. It is actually a popular funding (crowdfunding) to the "old-fashioned" *. Behind us there is not a big (or even medium) editorial. Only a small group of entrepreneurs who fight against the bureaucracy in order to offer a new line of wargames. And for this we need contributions that can give us some economic independence.
But that's no obstacle for us to try to offer a professional product (after all, you expect a return for your generous support), and not a half-finished fan-made. The game is tested waiting that, friends and patrons, suggest changes during the campaign.
