What is Uttopy
Uttopy is a Project born with a purpose, “to make solidarity visible”. It is a fashion brand that, through design, gives visibility to social causes, helping NGOs bring awareness and fundraise.
The collections are to be worn on the street and to share the message, generating a positive effect around, helping all of us to contribute to social change.
The NGOs, designers and you are the key pillars of this project. That is why, for us, it is very important to have your opinion and collaboration at this stage of the project. The goal of this campaign is to produce our first collection, and to know what styles you like the most, in order to launch our own platform.
For this launch, we have prepared 4 collections, with each supporting a social cause.
1. Zero Hunger
So that Hunger is no longer an option.
Every child deserves an education and enough to eat.
This is the goal of Mary’s Meals, to provide life-changing meals to some of the world’s poorest children every school day.
With this collection, we want to raise awareness about the issue of hunger and to help Mary’s Meals program in Malawi, a country in a state of emergency and facing its worst food crisis in many years. Mothers are unable to feed their children and millions are going hungry.
2. Born to Be Extraordinary
To ensure research for all rare diseases.
When a disease affects less than 5 out of 10.000 people, it is considered as rare. There are more than 7.000 rare diseases in the world, affecting around 7% of population, 3 million of them in Spain.
Jano Galán is one of them. In February 2012 went into a hospital for a pain on the left arm, 3 months later he was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Since that day, his goals in life changed. He refuses to think nothing can be done.
This collection is a homage to those that suffer a rare disease and collaborates with Dgeneracion, the NGO created by Jano, to help him fight for the end of this disease.
3. I Have Got Hope
For a world in which we all have a home.
More than 40.000 people in Spain do not have access to a home. More than a constitutional right, it is an essential need to ensure social inclusion.
Fundació Mambré is very aware of that reality, and fights to transform it, by offering shelter and a family environment on their homes, to try to ensure that on each of them new “life stories” can be nurtured.
With this collection, we want to raise awareness on the issue of homelessness and help Fundació Mambré provide homes for those that do not have one, bringing them hope of social reintegration.
4. Go Wild For Life
To help protect biodiversity.
Two thirds of what nature brings is in decline. In the animal world, 22% of all species are endangered. The bear is one of them.
Neré and her son, Cannelitto are the 2 only bears wandering free on the western pirinees. Thanks to the conservational tasks of NGOs like Fundación Oso Pardo, the reintegration of brown bears in Spain is possible, as it is already happening in the Cantabrian Mountains on northern Spain.
With this colllection, we want to raise awareness about the importance to protect biodiversity, from which the future of man kind largely depends. We collaborate with Fundación Oso Pardo to help it continue to work on the reintroduction of Brown bears and the recovery of their habitats.
This Project is aimed at those of you who like fashion and design and who share our view of the world.
To those who think that to respect the Planet is our responsibility, that Justice and Equality should be a right, that Diversity is a virtue. To those that believe on the Power of community to transform society and who are convinced that if we want, we can build a world with these values.
And, above all, to those that are ready to wear our clothes and to share their story, being a part of social change.
(If you have read up to here, is because this Project is appealing to you ☺)
We believe that creativity and design can change the world, and because of that, the design of our collections is essential for us.
To work on each of the collections we have had a great creative team, that has submerged into each of the causes: Jordi, César and Salva, from Maneki Neko agency. Thanks to the 3 of you for helping change the world!
In Uttopy we are engaged with the sustainability of the planet and the wellbeing of its inhabitants, for that reason, our garments are going to be produced in a sustainable manner, respecting the environment.
We will work with organic cotton and recycled polyester, in order to minimize environmental impact. We will handcraft the serigraphy on the T-shirts, using ink without PVC, phthalates or solvents.
It would not make sense to make it any other way!

Our Social Impact
Uttopy is a Project of social entrepreneurship, born with the goal of helping build a better world, involving those who want to collaborate.
For that reason, beyond our policy of clean production, you will have a social impact in 2 ways:
Through the awareness that we will generate around each cause, giving it visibility and sharing the story behind each of them. Being aware of the social issues, and wanting to solve them, is the first step towards social transformation.
Supporting the collaborating NGOs through the donations from each collection to help them keep their work on behalf of the cause.
To what are we going to Allocate your Contribution
The goal of this campaign is to involve you on the creation of the Project, and to be able to launch our first collections.
The fundraising will be allocated to the photolithographs, the production of the rewards, the donation to the NGOs and the shipment. And to the well-deserved commission of Verkami and the payment gateways that make possible this campaign.
We have everything ready to be able to supply you with the rewards on the week of the 19th of December (in Spain), so that you can fill your Christmas trees with solidarity and sustainable gifts, that help us change the world ☺.
Behind this project stand Cristina and Inés.
We joined Uttopy with the hope of helping make this world fairer and more sustainable.
If we have arrived up to here, is thanks to the support given by many of you. Many thanks to all of you. We love you!
Once you choose your garments, we will write to you personally to ask color, size and everything else. Here below you can find a guide on the sizes that you can choose from. If you have any question, we will help you select the right size.
