General information
Are you in the mood for a rural weekend of good music and dancing? Are you in the mood to join in and help us in this adventure?
Swing Disorder and Folque? is a collective of artists, musicians and dancers. We fuse Swing and Folk together and ultimately spread these two music and dance styles to small villages in Spain. People of all ages can learn about the meaning of swing or folk. Our first stop… Tartanedo!
Details:
Tartanedo Lindy Folk will be the first Swing and Folk festival ever! With origins from different sides of the world, this musical fusion will not only create the perfect atmosphere for this festival, but also to produce a brand new genre!
So if you still think that Balboa is Rocky’s last name or mazurkas is something you eat… Well, then you have to join!
WHAT: This festival emerged from the local initiative to increase and develop a social, economic and cultural regeneration for this territory. With the beautiful Guadalajara landscape as a backdrop, Tartanedo Lindy Folk will awaken this village with the rhythm of swing and folk.
WHERE: Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara). A region with one of the lowest population densities in Europe. (Even lower than Laponia!)
WHEN: September 9th - 11th.
LODGING: We are offering a campsite at a beautiful and shaded park in the village.
MISC: Participants of all levels can enjoy dancing and instrumental workshops during the day. Are you a beginner? Don’t worry, you’ll be an expert in no time! At night, we will have concerts, shows, DJ’s, and, above all, a chance to dance, dance and dance until you run out of battery.
If you want some time to chill, there is a heated pool in the village. The “full-pack ticket” includes a two-day-pass for the pool.
Since the village is very small and there are not any nearby supermarkets, the organization will provide drinks and food for the weekend, trying as well to recycle and reduce our impact as much as possible. Inexpensive food will be offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a special Sunday Paella. We will provide a vegan option as well! Our goal is to use no plastic or cans, but recycled silverware and reusable glasses.
*If you have some free time before or after the festival, we recommend you to visit the unbelievable landscapes of Parque Natural del Alto Tajo, where you can swim in the lakes and rivers!
