** Picasso in my retina**

Picasso in my retina is an art exhibition where the collective “27Bis” pays tribute to the great painter. The opening will take place at the end of 2016.

We invite you to join “27Bis” in the adventure of reflecting about the state of contemporary art.

Present and Future… What is left for current plastic artists after formal destruction performed by the Artist?

In the exhibition, we will address this question using different artistic disciplines (painting, photography, enamelwork, sculpture, poetry, music and performance) in indivudual pieces of the members of “27Bis”, as well as 3 collective pieces:

El mirall de Picasso (Picasso’s mirror)

The mirror has two main purposes: First, connecting with the occult PICASSO. Second, to return to the observer his/her own image, deconstructed by the mosaic made in glass and mirror, and provide him/her with a retina impression of the own cubist portrait.

Las Meninas

In this work, each of the artists will express in the canvas his/her view of PICASSO’s “Las Meninas”. The final piece will merge the reflections of each of us in a single work, creating a single group manifestation from our individualities. Ten different looks but a single objective: approaching PICASSO the art adapter.

Pablito y el otro deseo (Pablito and desire)

Here we use the literary work of the artist, in a movie inspired by the characters of the play “Desire Caught by the Tail”. These bizarre and wild characters will engage in a tour, with Pablito, where children will approach the work of PICASSO in a playful and funny way.

The project

Coming from Art’s modernity, how can we face 21st century? Each of the members of the project is engaged in the intense research on the artistic creation and life of the genius.

Through a controversial figure as the master was, we open the spectrum of the infinite possibilities to engage in the search of the contemporary Avant-garde of 21st century.

PICASSO allows us to address Art without esthetical or academic limitations, therefore, we can open new ways and perspectives in the game and erotics of artistic contemporary art.

How will we use your donations

Transporting, mounting and installing large-scale artwork.

Purchasing required materials for the development of our three collective facilities: “El mirall de Picasso”, “Las Meninas” and “Pablito y el otro deseo”.

El mirall de Picasso (Picasso’s mirror): collage of glass and mirror pieces mounted on a frame (2 m height, 1.5 m width).

Las Meninas: piece formed by 10 canvas (50 x 50 cm).

Pablito y el otro deseo (Pablito and desire): stop motion film.

Payback to our sponsors

In the collective installations, a list of sponsor names will be the proof of the support you provided. Also, we are designing a series of artistic paybacks that you can bring home as a small portion of Picasso en mi Retina:

Pack 10 postcards artist

Each of the artists of the project will design a postcard (10 x 15 cm) for the exhibition.

Un CD with a copy of the music Picasso sonoro composed by Alejandro Cano.

Limited edition print Picasso en mi retina

Limited series of black and white or color print (depending on the payback), size DIN A 3. We will combine several motives designed by the different artists to recreate Picasso’s mind.

When will the paybacks be available?

As soon as we attain our objective, we will be able to start paying back our sponsors. This will end in the opening, programmed in October or November.

Collective “27Bis”

“27Bis” is a horizontal collective of 10 artists coming from different disciplines. Our strategy is based on the independency provided by self-management.

“27Bis” are: Buhonegro, Cáceres expresionismo bruto, Alejandro Cano, Lara GR, Antonio Garay (Punto Negro), Roser Puig Volart and Mireia Torralba.
