The city streets are full of advertisements, shop windows and many other things whose only interest immediate consumption.

Unfortunately many artworks and architectural made to decorate and turn the cities are a nicer place in a second plan, sometimes supplanted or hidden behind a large billboard.

Fountains gives drink to those who thirst and have the task of decorating the city. Ancient civilizations (2000 BC) and built basins to retain water. Ancient Rome was called the City of Fountains in 98 AD

In Barcelona there are hundreds of fountain some very simple and some that are true works of art.

This book refers to fountain with the theme of childhood:

Who could not say where the fountain Little Red Riding Hood, the Child Fishing, is among these fountain which is to Frederic Mares or Rafael Atché.

Also visitors to the city may be interested to know the 1992 Olympic Sources, (although some are not), or that honors the dancer Carmen Amaya.

Why participate in the project?

It is just such a project possible through the support of people like you.

Knowing the city will protect against changes that may deteriorate further.

A photographer can discover a city "hidden" and a biologist can arouse interest in the water a key environmental issue.

The book

It is a small book 14.8 x 21.0 cm, hardback, on coated paper, with 44 photographs, to be practical and can be worn on the city tours as a guide.

The pictures will be accompanied by texts with historical and artistic information of the fountains.

Your contribution

The contributions will go to finance the publication of this first book on the fountain of Barcelona, this on children. Design work, editing, book printing, etc.

When will the book be ready

The texts and photographs are completed. With sufficient contributions in late July early August sent the books.

Two other small books like this are in preparation Hidden Water and Water Bouquet.

In this paper a complete work whose title comes The Thousand and One Fountain Barcelona, which I hope to publish in large format.

My job

As a biologist I worked for many years in various organizations defending the environment.

The last ten years I have been dedicating myself to photography of the urban landscape and nature.
