About the project
In 2019 I started the recording and publication on discographic support of the complete works for lute and theorbo by the Italian composer Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger (Venice 1580-Rome 1651).
An exciting project that will record in six volumes the three books for the chitarrone that have come down to us, published in 1604, 1626, 1640 and the book with **works for the lute of 1611.
That same year I launched a campaign on Verkami, obtaining the funds for the realization of the first volume of the collection, the CD Liuto Phantasticus, an integral recording of his book for lute published in Rome 1611.
At the moment I am in the second stage of the project, the recording of the first work published for the chitarrone, also known as theorbo, instrument that Kapsberger adopted from a very young age and that identified him throughout his life, being named "Il tedesco della tiorba ".
The recording of the first volume of the CD La Tiorba e il Todeschino with the contents of an important part of the Primo libro d'intavolatura di chitarrone published in Venice in 1604 has been completed, now it is necessary to continue with the second volume and for this we need the funds that will be destined to the recording, production, realization of the master and its publication in discographic support.
About the rewards
We have created a variety of rewards oriented not only to patrons passionate about baroque music but we have also thought of institutions and events interested in supporting and being part of the campaign.
We will offer a variety of products designed exclusively for this project, always using for the designs drawings or vignettes from Kapsbergerian sources to give them a very original touch and that in many cases will be available before the end of the goal.
