Endins is a short film which explains the story of two friends, Carles and Albert, who get into the wood moving away from their friends, who are taking a bath in the river pools. Carles had been there when he was a child, but this time rediscovers the place with an unusual sensation. Albert follows him and explores, with Carles, the hidden spots among the trees. But they are not alone there. The legend tells that tiny women with great beauty live hidden from the mortals, and they have the gift of captive the ones who get swept up in the cracked land.
When Albert realises about the subterranean cracks in the wood, Carles has no doubt in getting in neither Albert in following him. The more they get deeper, the more they move away from the reality. The stones create seduction, proximity, textures and an invisible thread which puts their bodies together, their breath, their glances and their silences. There is no need for them to touch to feel the rugosity of their skins.
El Bosc de les Estunes de Porqueres is a place with a great natural value. It is known by its caves and cracks of travertine, by its vegetation of oaks and holm oaks and by the silence and the peace, but especially by a legend which makes the place more magic. The nature has set the elements and shapes; the popular imaginary has filled the place with legends.
We wanted to make the most of this place and its potential, insomuch as of personify it, as it was a third character. The space is the chore of our story, which takes control of our characters and moves them almost like puppets.
With this idea, we want to recover the value of the natural, the intrinsic and ethereal, which still remains in some spots of our territory. We believe that this stands out in the spot of ‘Les Estunes’. The shapes and textures of the rocks form natural caves which never could be designed by man. Force of nature reigns in the space and makes the visitants get into the depths of the land almost unintentionally.
These are the actors who perform the characters of Carles and Albert:
Oriol Pla in the role of Carles. He has starred the movie Animals and co-starred Tots els camins de Déu. This year he has participated in the successful play Jo Mai directed by Iván Morales.
Oriol Escalé in the role of Albert. Studying in the Institut del Teatre, he has participated in the short films La Fatarella, 1983 and Aniversari. He has starred the plays Croades and Calígula.
Our OST is made by Jean Paul D. Tremont. He is a young composer and producer based in Madrid, who experiments with different styles like future garage or deep house. Actually he is preparing his first pack of professional tracks. Also, he dedicates time to his band (Hermeticage), who are also working to realise some tracks this summer.
The location of our short film is El Bosc de les Estunes de Porqueres, in Pla de l’Estany, and, that is why a big part of our budget is used to cover the expenses of the trips of the technical and artistic team, as well as the technical material from Barcelona.
Thus, the money we collect will be spent on:
**- The trips, the meals and the accommodation during the shooting
The lighting, sound and camera equipments
The postproduction and broadcasting expenses.
The taxes and paperwork expenses of the campaign**
Our purpose in Verkami is obtaining the minimum budget we need to cover our expenses, but if you help us to overcome this number, we will be able to technically improve our short film and it will have the chance to go further.
