WHAT IS ´CALLEJEANDO MADRID´?

In spite of being the city where I was born, Madrid was an absolute unknown place for me. I travelled to Paris, London, Amsterdam and paradoxically I looked at those cities in a very different way as I did at my own city. Something went wrong there, so I decided a year and a half ago to look at my city through the object-lens of my camera. At the same time I started my Facebook-page Callejeando Madrid creating a way to share my photographs . My target is to show places, stories, and curiosities of the city through images. So far I have taken 17.000 photographs and shared 2000 of them. Many times I woke up early to enjoy the sunrise over Madrid, I climbed up many buildings to shoot unusual images from their roofs and stayed up late to capture that one desired shot. The result in the social network was far better than I had expected and by now almost 60.000 people follow my project in Facebook and Twitter. The received messages and comments have motivated me to make this move towards publishing a book with a selection of my photographs.

FOR WHOM I MADE THIS BOOK?

For all those who want to discover the city from a different point of view, for the inhabitants of Madrid, for those who were born here and for different reasons are far away from the city and miss it, for those who have visited Madrid and have fallen in love with the city and for those who have never been here and, after seeing the photographs, will dream of getting to know it.

WHY DO I NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

Many of you have been encouraging me to publish a book and organize an exposition and , in order to make this dream come true I, inevitably, need your help. I personally control every move in the process, from design to layout, from edition to print, with the idea to share it with you from day to day. I will put the same endearment in this book as I do daily in ´Callejeando Madrid´. Definitely I want this book to be a continuation of the same project in which your participation has been fundamental.

WHAT WILL BE THE DESTINATION OF OUR CONTRIBUTIONS?

1. To all the costs of design, layout, edition, print, packaging and shipping.

2. To the preparation of an exposition of large format photographs

3. 15% of all the contributions will go to a charity-project of dining-room scholarships Aproedi SOS in Madrid. The commitment is that the amount will go entirely to families in Madrid in need of this help to be able to give their children a decent meal.

The 22nd of April starts the campaign in Verkami. From that moment we will have 40 days to achieve the necessary finance for the project. Verkami will not charge the money from your account until the end of the campaign (at the end of the 40 days) and only if we have achieved the full amount. The 1st of June will be the last day to make any contribution, from that moment on Verkami will start to charge the contributions from your accounts. This process will take 10 days. I want to have the book ready in the third week of June and start to send them then.

WHEN WILL MY CONTRIBUTION BE CHARGED?

When the period of collection established by Verkami (40 days of campaign) has finished, the amount you have contributed will be charged from your credit-card or Paypal-account with the name Verkami as destination.

HOW DO I RECEIVE THE REWARD?

After having finished the period of campaign, we will send a form to your email with various questions according to the reward of your choice: You can fill in the name you want to show on the back cover of the book (If you want) and the address where you want to receive the reward.

CAN I CONTRIBUTE AND SEND THE BOOK AS A PRESENT?

Yes. You can contribute as many times as you want with your user of Verkami. After having finished the period of campaign, we will send you a form in which you can indicate for each book a different address and name which we will put on the back cover of the book( If you want). In this case, the name of the person to whom you want to send this reward as a gift.

WE ARE AN ASSOCIATION, ENTITY… AND WE DON´T HAVE A CREDIT CARD. HOW CAN WE CONTRIBUTE AND RECEIVE THE PROVIDED REWARD?

WILL THERE BE AN EXPOSITION?

That is another part of my dream and I have put this as a second target. I want to keep sharing my photographs with you in various ways.

Absolutely, I would love to meet you all personally and share this moment with you. I´m looking for a good place for this event, luckily it will coincide with the exposition. I´ll keep you informed.
