WHO WE ARE
Fizzy Soup is a young spirit music band with an old look, a sweet filled with pop rocks, a bubbling Grandma soup. Fizzy started to grow in 2012. We played in several bars and concert halls using different names, changing our lineup and switching among Jazz, Swing, Rhythm & Blues, Folk, Funk... even Experimental and Electronic. At the same time, we kept composing cool songs without focusing on any specific aim.
In 2013, we came to the conclusion that setting up various bands with different names and almost the same musicians was a mistake. We needed to create something ours, made to bring a different experience to the world, something personal where we could give room to all the music we love without having to classify it under a label or a specific style. That’s how Fizzy Soup was born.
We started to seriously work on the observation of felines, the collection of music instrument and on bothering the neighbors. Some time later, we found ourselves obsessed by what we did: it had a shape and some weight. Then, we started to run some tests on several specimens to study their response. We definitely had to record our first album.
Up to now, we were combining our passion for music with different jobs -related or not to it- to survive, but after a long time in such situation we decided to get our feet wet by performing a triple somersault, and to dedicate all of our time, effort and savings -even if they’re not enough- to the music.
PROJECT
We want to share our songs with you. We want this record to be released but our economic resources are insufficient to produce it without the funding of the micro-sponsorship. Your help will allow us to create, care and decide by our own about each aspect of what is meant to be our first album. We will have more freedom during the creative process and, on the end, you will enjoy something that comes entirely up from us.
Our music is the result of an accidental marriage of our different influences, giving birth to a contrast of ancient and contemporary elements. From organ and guitar sounds to synthesizer and rhythm machines, we’re constantly experimenting in order to create a new and personal product. Since in this case it’s better to listen to it than to describe it, we bring you an advance of our first release “Wood Room”: the single “Twistin’ around”.
WHAT WILL WE EARMARK YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS FOR
The total cost of the project could be over 4000 €, but we made the decision to go for 2000 €. Such amount, in addition to our contributions, will be enough to cover the basic expenses of the first stage of our project. Your contributions will be distributed this way:
Recording, mixing and mastering: 850 €
Edition of 1000 CD: 700 €
T-shirts: 200 €
Sticker: 50 €
Others (shipping costs, etc.): 200 €
Nevertheless, if we beat the limit, your contributions will be earmarked for improving the quality of everything that surrounds our project: the creation of a video-clip, a website, the digital distribution, and other side and promotion expenses.
CALENDAR
Nowadays, we are recording our album. We still don’t have a release date but it will be ready in March. The physical edition and the rest of rewards could be delivered maximum in April. Don’t worry, we will keep you informed.
