APUCKALYPSE, the last issue of PUCK MAGAZINE, is a collection of Apocalyptic nightmares drawn by 115 different artists from all over the World: underground cartoonists, satirical authors, xilographers, poster artists...
A weird graphic journalism to tell a New Apocalypse. To create the greatest editorial tragedy ever, we have asked to each artist involved to invent a special apocalyptic day and set the story in his own hometown.
PUCK is an underground comic magazine, founded in 2001 by 15 old years Ivan Manuppelli (known as Hurricane) , Emanuele Fossati and Marco Falatti. In more than 10 years they have published the best names in cartoon animation, street art, low brow and underground comix culture: Bruno Bozzetto, Osvaldo Cavandoli, Jay Lynch, Bill Griffith, Frank Stack, The Air Pirates, Gilbert Shelton, John Holmstrom, Franco Trincale, Matteo Guarnaccia, Max Capa, Gino Gavioli, Paolo Bacilieri, Sergio Ponchione, Paco Alcazar, Al Jaffee, Tom Bunk, Hunt Emerson, Winston Smith…
In 2011 the crew published PUCK COMIC PARTY, a surrealistic “narrative corpse” with more than 170 cartoonists for the same story. The issue was exposed by Art Spiegelman in “Le musée privé” in Angouleme 2012. HERE you can read a review of the issue, by John Holmstrom, director of Punk Magazine
APUCKALYPSE: the BOOK!
150 pages. Black and white and colours.
Apuckalypse book will contain 115 black and white unpublished comic stories, drawn by 115 different artists, and set in 115 different cities + special contributes : illustrations and articles.
The issue contain a special COLOR POSTER drawn by collage artist WINSTON SMITH and a special prefation written by JAY KINNEY, guru of Underground Comix scene.
WHAT DO WE NEED THE MONEY FOR
We need the money to print the book in 2 different editions of APUCKALYPSE: one in English and another one in Italian language. Each edition has a different cover. Italian one is made by Christopher Ulrich, International edition has the cover drawn by Marcos Carrasquer.
