SURA , a toy made from natural cork

Sura is the first product by HORY, a new brand aiming at creating genuine products that transmit intensity.

This fun and beautiful toy made from cork is designed and produced entirely in Catalonia.

Sura is a toy for children over 3 years old. The set contains a boat, buoys and several fishes to play fishing while they take a bath.

Playing with Sura requires various skills. Attaching the fishes to the buoys is a real challenge. The game is participatory; up to three boys and girls can play forming teams. Sura has been designed to be educational and will help kids discover the Mediterranean fishing arts.

Sura is a 100% recyclable toy and includes a template so parents and kids can create more fishes reusing gel and shampoo containers.

Sura pays homage to natural cork, one of the finest and most delicate Mediterranean materials. The cork is the outer bark of the Cork Oak (Quercus Suber). It has been used for centuries for its unique properties of buoyancy as well as thermic and acoustic isolation, and regenerates itself naturally.

Sura has been created to value the work of longline fishermen in the Mediterranean. This fishing technique, the most environmentally friendly, allows to catch some of the great specimens of our waters like the bass, the common dentex, the pullet or the dory, among others.

Sura has been designed in Barcelona and combines the numerical control milling precision with a sensual touch brought by craftsmanship. It is 100% made in Catalonia in collaboration with the Centre Especial de Treball El Vilar de Blanes.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH YOUR DONATIONS

We have already made the first prototypes and the toy manufacture test. The first non-commercial units of the product are being produced. This pre-series will let us control every step of the process as well as the compliance with regulations. The prices and distribution channels are set.
