Desordes Creativas 2013

WHAT IS IT?

DesOrdes Creativas is an international urban art festival that takes place in Ordes (A Coruña ) after six consecutive years.

Each year the festival acts as an effective tool of social dialogue and constant urban regeneration, revitalising old deteriorated spaces. It has helped to turn Ordes- a village well known for its ugly urbanism- into a big open-air museum; also a public one, free and accessible to everyone. It has also contributed to place this village on the map, creating an attractive touristic destination for restless travellers and loyal urban art lovers

More than forty artists have participated in the festival since its first edition, providing them a window to the world; a platform in which to materialize and exhibit their work in a format accessible for all.

Consequently, this event helps to dignify and support urban art in general, and the work of local artists in particular, acting as a catapult that shows the world what’s happening in the streets of Galicia.

In addition to inviting the best international and national artists to participate in the festival, the organization supports the local Galician artists, who are a big part of the festival’s programme.

WHO ARE WE?

The event is an independent and non-profit initiative developed by the association “Cultivarte” and the creative studio “Mutante”.

Your love, the one of every artist and the people that work together for street art is what make it possible and without your unselfish effort it wouldn’t exist.

WHAT´S HAPPENING THIS YEAR?

Ten different artists, coming from Galicia, the rest of Spain and abroad, are welcome for this new edition of the “Desordes Creativas” They will fulfill the walls of the village with colors and strength. Some big format paintings will be waiting for you to pass by and stare at the messages of the society.

This year you will also enjoy a short-film and documentary series about urban art in the “Casa da cultura” of Ordes. Works from several parts of the world will show a different perspective about news forms of art. It couldn’t be other way, the entrance is for free.

Some other events are waiting for your collaboration to be possible:

-Workshops about graffiti, stencil and other techniques for the youngest

-Master-classes with some of the artists

-End of the festival party with live music and dj’s

** WHAT ARE WE GOINT TO DO WHITH THE MONEY?**

We’re going to spend it. Most of it on renting elevators sprays and cans of paint, but also in food, bus, train or flights, as well as accommodation for some of the artists. Don’t forget about printing posters, music hardware renting and production expenses.

** WHEN?**

From Monday the 22sd until Sunday the 28th of July 2013 you can visit the village and enjoy live art. Just from the brushes.
