ALZINA
Alzina is a film that talks about finding ourselves through every little thing that happens around. The interaction of humans with their environment. As the synopsis suggests, this couple will begin a travel of experimentation between “right and wrong”, even confusing these two extremes separated by a thin line.
Alzina explores the most hidden secret places of the person, the deepest nature of our actions, needs and desires.
Alzina is a portrait of how life is able to break through any obstacle that stands in front.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
LANGUAGE
This film will be shot in catalan. We don’t want to open any debate, but many of us know that catalan is a language that is in danger of extinction, and therefore, as it is our maternal language, we think it makes sense to perform the way we express ourselves more comfortably.
The film will be subtitled both spanish and english.
PHOTOGRAPHY
To film this project we will use high-definition canon cameras. This is a low budget project and these cameras offer the possibility of achiving good results with smaller cost.
TEAM
Alzina will be shot on the island of Menorca, home to many of the team members.
Rubén Pons, Julia Cardona i Jordi Odri will be the main actors.
Enka Alonso will be also in the cast.
WHAT WE’RE GONNA DO WITH YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
-Rental of photographic equipment: we want to make things right. We’re not going to use a lot of lights, like 1000W lights for example. We like things in our measure, therefore, with four bulbs here and there, seems to be enough. But what is clear is that to make a film, you always need a camera, and renting these, is the most expensive thing.
-Catering: it's as simple as that if there is no food, one does not work. Neither stands or walks. We care for our team members, the little family that we will form. We all know that the best work is that one with a full belly!
-Transportation: two members of our team live in Barcelona; so we feel that we have to cover the costs of their trip from the mainland to the island.
-Travel expenses during filming: Gas is expensive, very expensive, and we'll be going from side to side throughout the filming. We will manage the working plan to make it the most efficient we can and avoid any extra travel. But stil, cars drink as vampires
-Material for special effects: when you read or hear "special effects", in your head immediately recreates some sequence of STAR WARS or something like that. The special effects material can range from a pen to a lightsaber.
CALENDAR
Right now we are in the pre-production process, so we are locating where to shot the sequences, asking permission to the authorities and owners, rehearsaling with the actors, looking for all the material we need, etc.
-Shooting date: september 2.
-Editing date: october 4 (aprox.)
REWARDS
Rewards are going to be distributed when the film is edited and mounted on the DVD, since it is one of the main rewaerds. In short, will be delivered between the following dates:
Between December 1st and February 1st, like Christmas presents.

What about this rural house? –some of you must be thinking. Well, let us explain.
It is a small house of 35m2, located in the same place in which the director of the movie lives. The house is rustic style, with parquet floors, sandstone white walls, with water collected directly from the rain and ready to drink from the tap, bathroom with toilet (WC and shower plate). It is also equipped with a small kitchen, in case you prefer to prepare your own food, but as indicated at the reward, the food is included.
When you can come? The logical thing would be -unless you own a lot of money- that you look when the tickets are cheaper. After consulting that, the rest is just talk about what do you need to enjoy a weekend on the island.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: due to low budget, we're sorry to tell you that rewards will be only delivered in Spain.
If you are not living in Spain, but want to receive the package, you will be asked to contribute with the extra expenses for the shipment.
We can also try to find alternative ways to send it (e.g. via friends that may visit Spain and could pick up the parcel and then bring it back with them to where you are).
So you just need to explain your situation to us and we will find a way to manage.
(the copy of the script, storyboard, online HD viewing, and the postcards, will be delivered to everyone)
SCREENING* IN MENORCA
Once the movie is finished –film edited and rewards distributed-, we will screen the movie in Menorca so everyone can see the film in a decent projection.
After the projection, in the same place in which the screening will take place, we will celebrate with champagne, typical products of the island (skewers of spicy sausage, cheese, sausage, stuffed eggplant, bread with tomato) and an assortment of snacks by the hand of Elena Goñalons, specialized in vegetarian and macrobiotic meals, for those who like to have a healthier life. Also there will be some music playing, and the film crew (actors, director, etc..), will be present, so if you want to ask anything related with the film, you are free to do it. They will be happy to answer your questions.
*The acces to the screening costs 2€ unless it is included in your reward.
We will have also a screening in Barcelona, but we have to check some details. We will inform you soon!

Dear Patrons and curious tourists, you find yourself now reading these words. Why do I ask your collaboration? It is simple. I not here to talk about politics, but probably you will know something about the situation now in Spain, I'm not ashamed to confess that I am one of the 7 million people that are now unemployed. If I had a job, and not just a job, a job with a salary, I could probably finance my projects by myself, but as I lack of both, this time I will try it through verkami.
Since my childhood, my parents had always teached me certain values, one of them, and perhaps one of the most important, is to share. Someone once said that sharing makes you happier. He was probably right. So I decided to be an artist -or as people want to call it, in order to share my ideas and my particular vision of the world that surrounds me. Because that's what art is about: a painter, for example, paints a picture, but once the picture is completed, it belongs also to the viewer. If you buy the picture, the picture becomes yours, and if you show your new picture to your friends, they will spread it further. Unless the picture is horrible, of course and no one wants to see it. But let's be positive. With a movie its exactly the same way.
I'm not going to cheat you, in this movie you're not going to see E.T., you're not going to see machine guns, transformers or Bruce Willis jumping from a harrier... (I really like Bruce Willis, but we cannot afford that...) You will not see anything like that. This film is about human beings and their constant search for themselves. If you don't like the idea, don't worry, don't invest any money. Here nobody forces anyone, it is grateful enough that you are here, right now. But if instead you believe in what we do and you want to support our efforts, then collaborate with us. If you can't do it economically, don't worry, instead you can help us to spread this project: show it to your parents, brothers, girlfriends and boyfriends, to your friends, put it on Facebook, put it on Twitter, put it EVERYWHERE...
