The Book
“Drap-Aires: Stories from the Drap-Art Festival” is a commemorative book celebrating 30 years of Drap-Art, an association dedicated to sustainable art, social change and environmental awareness through the International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia.
The book brings together memory, archive material, testimonials, images and stories linked to the festival, highlighting the work of the artists, collaborators and communities that have been part of Drap-Art from 1995 to the present day.
This publication features a selection of the best photographs by renowned photojournalist and visual artist Consuelo Bautista, who has documented, with a unique eye, the energy, spaces, actions and people that have brought the festival to life over the years.
The texts and anecdotes from the festival are narrated with humour by writer Xavier Theros, who accompanies the visual journey with a literary, critical and accessible perspective.
Drap-Aires is not just a commemorative book: it is a way of preserving a collective memory and sharing three decades of art, sustainability, urban life and social transformation.
The book is written in Catalan and includes translations into Spanish and English, so that this shared memory can travel further.

About the rewards
For this campaign, we have prepared different rewards so that everyone can support the project in the way they prefer.
The main reward is the book "Drap-Aires: Stories from the Drap-Art Festival", a commemorative publication celebrating 30 years of Drap-Art. The first 100 copies of the book will be signed by the authors, a special edition for the first backers who support the project.
Among the rewards you will find:
The book "Drap-Aires: Stories from the Drap-Art Festival", a commemorative publication celebrating 30 years of Drap-Art. The first 100 books will be signed by the authors.

Who We Are
Drap-Art is a non-profit cultural association with more than 30 years of experience in the creation, production and management of cultural projects linked to art, sustainability and social transformation.
Rooted in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter since our beginnings in 1995, Drap-Art has promoted festivals, exhibitions, workshops, markets, awareness-raising activities and international projects, giving visibility to hundreds of artists working with reclaimed materials and sustainable creative practices.
Our project has been present in more than 16 countries and has built a strong network of artists, artisans, cultural managers and collaborating organisations. This journey has given us experience in cultural coordination, communication, event production, working with creative communities and managing projects with a social and environmental dimension.
How We Will Use Your Contributions And Estimated Timeline:
Your contributions will help make the production and publication of the book possible: reviewing and editing the contents, design and layout, printing, binding, production of rewards, logistics, shipping and campaign management. The funding will be complemented with the association’s own resources and cultural grants.
The book presentation will take place on 15 September at the Mirador of the CCCB, when we expect to have the printed copies ready and to begin delivering the rewards. If you would like to attend, please write to us at [email protected].
