Look at Me, Laura is a genre based short film created with a clear goal: to bring to life an intimate, powerful, and emotional story that explores how the past can continue to live on within us.

This campaign aims to gather the necessary support to produce the short film in Asturias, creating a carefully crafted, honest film with the potential to compete at national and international film festivals. Your support will help turn this project into a reality.

WHAT IS THE STORY ABOUT?

Laura is a woman who has been haunted by a childhood trauma: the violent death of her parents when she was only 8 years old.

Now, at 27, she’s trying to rebuild her life… but something doesn’t feel right. The voices, the memories, the sensations… they’re still there. And then Diego shows up. A disturbing presence that not only throws her off balance, but also seems to know far too much about her.

Look at Me, Laura is a psychological journey where the line between reality and memory becomes blurred.

THE CHARACTERS

Laura

Fragile yet strong at the same time. Introverted but with a strong personality, marked by her past, she lives in a constant state of emotional tension. The glasses she inherited from her mother are not just an object: they are a symbol of the way she sees the world.

Diego

Mysterious. Present. Disturbing. We don’t know if it’s real, if it’s watching us, or if it’s invading our space. But it’s there, and it won’t go away.

TONE AND ATMOSPHERE

The project is rooted in psychological drama, featuring elements of tension, obsession, suspense, and film noir.

We’re looking for an aesthetic:

Realistic, Intimate, Dark, and Sensory. The camera draws close to the character, almost breathing with her.

We want the viewer not only to see the story… but to feel it.

ASTURIAS AS A CHARACTER

The story will take place in Asturias, a key setting in the narrative.

It’s not just a setting; it’s part of the project’s very essence:

Cemeteries by the sea, quiet villages, places steeped in history.

VISUAL CONCEPT

The film adopts a cinematic and naturalistic aesthetic:

Use of natural light, a palette of dark tones, stark contrasts between light and shadow, and close-up, almost intrusive camerawork.
